BTW, if you want to make sure your fries are hot, ask for "no salt" and then grab a pack of salt and sprinkle yourself. Its a win/win since you'll get both fresh cooked fries AND the youngster won't be spreading too much salt on them trying to kill you.
You guys are looking at it all wrong... McDonald's managers knowing of the dangers of food their company makes tries to extend life of their customers by reducing the portions. It's really all about keeping people healthy. If you think about it -- same concept as was used to increase taxes on cigarettes, coffee, artificial sweeteners, etc. It's their way to make sure you eat less crap.
But what do you do if the potentially underage chick at the counter is marginally attractive, yet shy and awkward? Do you let it slide?
Hopefully she's not underage? There's no way for you to know, though. You might feel disappointed and crummy, so no, don't let it slide. I think you should just go straight ahead and ask for her phone number.
I get it. I don't think this is a McDonalds thing as much as it is the franchise owner trying to penny pinch and maximize their profits. Is a large fry with a couple missing really not enough?
