Except for the 29 yard shank he throws in every game

I liked Josh Martin for sure. One of the few linebackers that didn't suck yesterday.

I don't see how Lee and Davis could have been "awful" or "sucked" when they led the team in tackles. Could they have played better? Undoubtedly, but they got to the ball carriers when other Jets defenders didn't and got them on the ground.

exactly and people said what game i was watching when i put lee in the studs. he blew up clay and made the tackle for a 4 yard loss on mccoy. I seen lee fuck up 1 play by over pursuing and mccoy bounced it back outside. besides that play lee had a great game

he needs to show more consistency on a snap per snap basis and also when he covers he doesn't seem to finish the play / get lost, so he absolutely needs to continue to improve. Perhaps he's overthinking everything, being new to the position and all. The kid makes a play every now and then you can see that on a game to game basis, but the consistency just isn't there. I still think overall his game was subpar, but Davis CERTAINLY did not do him any favors.

Lee and Davis look really bad here too

EDIT - Crossing routes will kill the Jets all season, if the safeties don't make a play on the ball or Lee steps up

I agree he does need to be more consistent and learn the game better and not over pursue. he's gotten better from last year at least in this game but did it once. Still overall he played a good game

also FWIW i just found out maye as the one that cost us a TD by getting thrown into burris on the INT return. not gonna fault him for it, but it's the type of play that only happens to the jets

With 2 rookie safeties, and pretty inexperienced linebackers, play actions are going to burn us pretty bad if the opponent gets the run game going.
