South of us got absolutely hammered but not terrible here. No power for a while I'm sure but we have running water. Internet has been sketchy. On the drive home some water pressure regulators were spewing water everywhere so we may lose water also. Still some 25-30 mph gusts and they say more storms coming. Need to conserve phone power so won't be checking in here much.

    YEEEEEWWWWWWW

Thanks man.... but my place survived unscathed. Surge In St. Aug was prob half of Matthew, and alot of flooding was rain not being able to receed at High Tide as it blew onshore 50-60 kts for 2 days it seemed.
Back of my neighborhood flooded again :( but luckily prob only a few houses this time vs only a few that didnt. I also sealed every opening to my house with roofing tape, 3/4" plywood, and marine caulk on the seams. Not sure if it would've held up to the 20" around my house that Matthew's surge created..... but glad I didnt have to test. I think the power staying on saved me, as I installed a sumppump on a float switch by my front door to get water off the property, who knows? rain, yeah, surge, I doubt it. but either way I spent 3 full days and prob $300 to make sure that wasnt happening again. (roofing tape tar most like fuctup my new garage doors but so what)

Somehow we had power and TV almost the whole time, Sunday night/ monday morn it got pretty nasty....laying in bed at my parents (in a beer induced "sleep") I could here roof tiles popping and the exahust vent get ripped off (gusts hit 94 before the meter went out)

*speaking of... apparently I drove through a F2 tornado sunday trying to get back to watch the shitty ass JETS*...... heavy intense shit
literally beat the motherfucker on a1a when this happenned:

I think I smoked the tranny on my silver burro trying to power through that shit but #gonissan

Sadly JAX is the place that got smashed this time..... ALL TIME bad flooding for there :(

Hopefully your homestead fared well also!!

*watching that game... THIS TEAM SUCKS!! Ive never rooted for them to lose, but I think i truly want them to go 1-15 (with the one win vs the Dolphins causing them to miss the payoffs)

Glad you made out ok. We are ok here, only without power for about 20 hours, friend had generator so had power to kitchen and cable, unfortunately cable went out before 11 pm. Some of the homes in here were not so lucky, saw many that roofs were torn apart, a couple that lost side walls. Of course massive amount of limbs and trees down.

Unfortunately my son is still without power in Orlando, daughter in Lakeland also without power but I think she also dodged a bullet with the huge oaks in her backyard. Kids in Pinellas made out good.

We just kept cooking through the storm, friends wife works for HSN so they have every cooking implement known to man. Chicken on the gas griddle, 5 1/2 lb pork loin in the electric pressure cooker, sausage on the grill. They have 3 teenage boys, so with 7 of us there, had a lot of stomachs to try and eat the food from 3 freezers before it went bad.

Didn't think about it until I went shopping yesterday, how expensive it is to replace everything in the fridge. But I can't complain since there are millions much worse off than us.

I only got to see the first drive of the game before we had to take off so didn't get to see how ugly it was, guess I'll see that this week.

Jose is stalled out in the Atlantic spinning, when it starts moving again it's like the big wheel at the casino nobody knows which way it's going to go. The Northeast is a possibility like the GFS showed a few days ago but my question is what sort of intensity could we expect with a direct B-line hit? It's been a mild summer here and the waters must be pretty cold

Hopefully it doesn't head for South or Central Fla, many still without power. I'm heading to Lakeland tomorrow with coolers of ice and other supplies.
We've been getting many out of staters just driving down with trailers full of supplies. Friend works in supply chain for school board and they warehouse all emergency supplies, she has been telling me about people from all over coming in.
