I had no problem with decker or Harris. One was coming off an injury and the other was done IMHO>

Jesus how pathetic is this season going to be, when there's a appreciation thread for someone being named back-up QB! Sad times

First, it was a given that Bowles wasn't going to do the TRULY right thing and make Petty the starter, so in light of that, naming him the #2 is "right" I guess. It just underscores how clueless Bowles is about offense, and hints at perhaps some actual prejudice against Petty for some reason.

Bowles can't get gone soon enough.

Bowls should have said: "McCown gives us the best chance to win.......in 2018 and beyond with Sam Darnald under center"

Hack was still taking #2 reps today.

I'm surprised Hack wasn't taking reps with the 1's.

Does that mean taking the reps of the backup QB with the starters instead of Petty, or taking reps with the #2 offense?

Per Toilets latest press conference, he hasnt decided the no. 2 QB. "Its close" he said.

Petty participated fully in Wednesday practice.

    So this bullshit never ends.

Oy... How much worse does Hack have to play and how much better does Petty??

Bowles, you're doing anybody any favors by playing a less competent young QB ahead of the more competent young one...

If Hack wasn't a 2nd round pick he should have already been cut (maybe he should have anyway). Brandon Allen from the Jags offers more upside

Once McCown gets hurt or sputters, it better be Petty out there. With this season being a disaster by design, it might be tougher for Bowles to lose his job, but insisting on Hack over Petty would be a significant strike and further demonstrate a lack of competence

So you watch a guy hit himself in the head with a hammer. He does it again. He does it again. He does it again. Who's more crazy - the guy hitting himself with the hammer, or the guy watching him?

Einstein's definition of insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results".

Yea this sounds to me like the decision of someone else.

I don't think Bowles wants to play Hack at all.

You could be right, but Petty was Mac's draft choice too. He'd look even better if the QB he took in the 4th round develops into a quality starter and the jury was still out on his 2nd rounder.

If Mac is ordering Bowles to put Hack at #2 QB then he deserves to get fired for that alone, I don't care if every other draft pick other than Hac he made turns into a HOFer.

Hackenberg is the no2. Petty is inactive for this game. Just one more reason for me not to watch.

Or.... Petty just isn't ready. Practice and games are different, why risk Petty already? He's clearly not 100 percent.
