In the back of my mind there's a voice telling me that there's a chance to surprise this year...but then I look at this roster on paper and shake my head like kermit.
Just not a lot of talent there on paper. We can only hope some of the young guys develop into solid players.
Looking at that oline, I'm hoping McClown stays healthy enough to spare Petty and Hack the punishment that's sure to come.
Sometimes coaching and good scheme can mask deficiencies but even that is questionable at this point. I'm still holding out hope until I see a terrible product.
Jesus looking at that line-up and the only thing that stands out is OL? There isn't a QB on this roster worth protecting..
Linebackers aren't that bad. I mean Bruce Carter and Jordan Jenkins are decent. Jury still out on Lee. Overall it ain't pretty, but it's not 0-16 bad. And yea some QB's are gonna get their bell rung this year. This is going to be very similar to the 1995 season, Kotite's first year
The defense has talent...but that only gets you so far. It's also very young playing in a complex scheme. Can we just ditch the 3-4 once & for all? If Bowles likes to blitz behind 1 gappers up front than fine..stop making everything over complicated rotate your 6 best 4 down w. their hand in the dirt & get upfield. Thats alittle more possible now w. Ealy. The QB situation is beyond dire. While very young & seemingly nameless I could even see the skill group gelling into a functional unit by season's end. But not w. how things currently stand; Not even close. I just hope It's better than that recent season opener in Jax when the Jags never made past their own 50 the whole game.
I hope Gabe Marks, Deon Simon, Lawrence Thomas, Craig Watt, Xavier Coleman and about 10 OL pick up's make the practice squad.
I think Kotitte will be off the snide after this season. Bowles will be te new poster child for disaster season.
The really sad and scary thing is that to my knowledge, there was no OL cut who might be better than any of the schlubs we have.
