Really, when you disrespect Myra like that, can you expect to be able to handle the shame?

The family would have to agree to pay that and I doubt they have the money. His $1.3M home has/had an attachment on it so it could not be sold, same with cars. His attorney in his first trial said he was running out of money 2 years ago.

Odin Lloyd's mother has a civil suit which they say she will get around $5M that is the reason his assets are attached.

2-1 it was just auto-erotic asphyxiation. That's the Patriot Way.

I was thinking the same thing. Hernandez was recently found not guilty in the other charge, seems like an odd time to do yourself in.

With the trials over, he had nothing left to live for.

His state conviction is overturned now. His family gets money they otherwise would not have seen. He had appeals remaining on the conviction but it costs money to get that overturned and it's no guarantee it happens - more likely not.

It is a suspicious death but not to the point of obvious homicide. There were reasons to do what he did if he did indeed do it.

What is the status change if any between suing a live respondent and suing the estate of a deceased individual?

Should be no status change, not sure how it is in Mass. but the estate generally just takes over as the defendant with the executor of the estate making all decisions.

Edit: I guess changing the defendant from Hernandez to Estate of Hernandez would effectively be a status change but no change otherwise.

From what I read, the court already ruled in favor of the lloyd's and it is simply a matter of finalizing damages which should not be impacted by any change in the ruling or his breathing status.

Apparently it will be harder for the family of Lloyd to win without the conviction on the record and I'm guessing punitive damages would likely be effected as well since Hernandez is no longer around to punish with them - it's his family now.

i heard yesterday that since he has a pending appeal on the original murder charge it will be thrown out as if it never happened. that will make a civil trial harder, with the criminal case guilty they really didnt have to do anything other than say he is guilty. here is the proof and put up the criminal case. now they will have to do the work to prove he is responsible for the death. the victims family will probably be fine but it def opened the door for them to get screwed.

After review the recievers feet did not touch
I saw the same thing in a few different places. The other issue is now his family can sue the Patriots for the remaining 15 mil on his contract since he is no longer in breach of it. Assuming this is correct his daughter is now set for life pending civil litigation. And the pats taking a cap hit gives me a laugh in what is a sad story on so many levels.
