Colon gives up the tying home run to the ridiculously-over-the-hill Howard. That's just not acceptable.

Loney gets the two run lead back. Good day for first basemen.

This home plate umpire is a real jackass. He rings up Cespedes on a pitch that is clearly low and outside, and then when Cespedes says something he immediately tosses him from the game. Nice rabbit ears, moron.

Before I think about that I'm rooting for SF to lose today, and then both to do the same thing tomorrow (win or lose), so they have to play a play-in game. The Mets get to rest a little while whichever team wins has to work hard and use up pitching.

That was as bad a sequence for the ump as imaginable. He was incompetent and a sack of shit in less than 5 seconds.

Not a TC guy, but I'm tipping the cap his way today. Did a helluva job keeping this team together after the front line pitching went on the IRL. We may not get back to the WS, but if we can get past Frisco, the sky is the limit.

    Lets go Mets!

San Francisco it is. Bumgarner at Syndegaard on Wednesday night. That might get a little attention around the majors.

Good luck Mets fans...It will be some huge task to get over MadBum. Probably the best postseason pitcher in recent years.

It's the one matchup I didn't want to see. I think the Mets can beat any team in the playoffs, but not Baumgardner in a season single game.

Agreed. Gotta make him work the count and work just pitch count. If we can stay even and get it tot he bullpen I think we have a terrific shot.

Dont forget, MadBum can give up 2 runs but also hit a 3-run HR to take the lead back.

    Lethal dude.

One of the biggest things I am scared of tonight is him getting a big hit

That's what makes this so special IMO. Guys like Gsellman, Lugo, Rivera and even the return of Reyes have been awesome. Back in August during that stream where Reyes Cespedes and Cabrera were out I thought it was over. I'm even quoted here posting how it's time for football season. I'm so excited for tonight, but at the same time I have very, very low expectations.
