I tried a different tact this year & took a QB & TE way earlier than I normally do. Sitting at the 12 in a 12 team league, had me worried that those positions would be fairly picked by the next time I was up, so I reached a little bit (Brees, Ben & Olsen all went before my next pick). I don't love my depth, but I guess that's the hit you take when drafting QB/TE in Rd 3 & 4.

Scoring: .25 per rush, .75 per reception, 6 points per TD (passing, rushing & receiving), some points for return yardage.

    1. (12) Allen Robinson (Jax - WR)
    2. (13) Le'Veon Bell (Pit - RB)
    3. (36) Andrew Luck (Ind - QB)
    4. (37) Jordan Reed (Was - TE)
    5. (60) Marvin Jones Jr. (Det - WR)
    6. (61) Frank Gore (Ind - RB)
    7. (84) Danny Woodhead (SD - RB)
    8. (85) Willie Snead (NO - WR)
    9. (108) Arizona (Ari - DEF)
    10. (109) Mike Wallace (Bal - WR)
    11. (132) Tajae Sharpe (Ten - WR)
    12. (133) Jay Ajayi (Mia - RB)
    13. (156) Jameis Winston (TB - QB)
    14. (157) Eric Ebron (Det - TE)
    15. (180) Ted Ginn Jr. (Car - WR)
    16. (181) Charcandrick West (KC - RB)
    17. (204) Adam Vinatieri (Ind - K)

I don't think your "tactic" worked out very well

Aside from kicking myself over the Luck pick, what should I have done differently in those spots?

The first five picks are fine. After that the only guy I like is Woodhead. not getting deangelo Williams really hurts you for the first three weeks.

    I don't think it's that bad TBH.

    Qb - luck
    Rb1 - bell
    Rb2 - woodhead
    Wr1 - a Rob
    WR2 - Marvin jones
    Wr3 - ?
    TE - Reed
    Flex - Ebron

Luck is due for a bounce back year. Woodhead is a top 10 rb in PPR leagues. Just hope Marvin jones doesn't get hurt and you should be in good shape. Reed scored 10% less than gronk last year so that is good
Value considering gronk is a first round pick. I also think Ebron is in for a monster year. No Megatron so someone has to get those targets

    Start:
QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R/T, K, DEF
    Scoring:
    Completions .2
Passing Yards 30 yards per point
    Passing Touchdowns 6
    Interceptions -2
    Rushing Attempts .25
Rushing Yards 10 yards per point
    Rushing Touchdowns 6
    Receptions .75
Receiving Yards 8 yards per point
    Receiving Touchdowns 6
Return Yards 35 yards per point
    Return Touchdowns 6
    2-Point Conversions 2
    Fumbles Lost -2
    Offensive Fumble Return TD 6
    40+ Yard Completions 1
    40+ Yard Passing Touchdowns 4
    40+ Yard Run 1
    40+ Yard Rushing Touchdowns 4
    40+ Yard Receptions 1
    40+ Yard Receiving Touchdowns 4

There's a strong bias towards guys that get a lot of volume (completions, carries or receptions) or get that homerun play.

I feel like Snead should be an unspectacular, but consistent volume guy. He was last year. I took Ebron, because I felt I needed insurance with Reed's injury history, and he has upside potential. With 12 teams, 7 bench spots & and an IR spot, everyone's forced to buy some lottery tickets, so I grabbed guys behind agiing, injury plagued vets: Ajayi & West. The waiver wire is pretty much trash until injuries or some unknown does great things.

I planned on reaching for DeAngelo a little bit, but someone shocked the league taking him in the early 7th (74th overall). I would have had to take him at 61. I couldn't do that.

Finished 8-5, 2nd in rank & points scored, although entering the playoffs on a 2 game slide. Luckily I have a buy for the first week of the playoffs. Hopefully Reed will be good to go in Week 15. My WRs suck, but the Luck-Bell-Ajayi-Gore-Reed-Arizona have been able to carry me most weeks. If only I had picked a guy like Evans or Hilton over Allen Bustinson.

In: Tyreek Hill, Boyd, Fiederowicz, Ivory, Sturgis, SD
Out: Woodhead, Ebron, Sharpe, Ginn, West, Vinatieri
