    Per Rotoworld:

Appearing on Mike Clay's Sirius Fantasy show, ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold stated that Trevor Siemian "has won the starting job."

Siemian apparently "won the starting job" in a preseason game he was pick sixed by 49ers FS Eric Reid. More accurately, Mark Sanchez outright lost the starting job with three turnovers in Denver's first two exhibitions, and Paxton Lynch isn't quite ready yet. Siemian is on track to start Week 1, but if he starts the season slow, coach Gary Kubiak could have a quick hook.

Its incredibly refreshing to see the QB circus elsewhere, for once.

Broncos will go from S.B champions to outright missing the playoffs this up coming season.

They'll still field a strong defense but they've not only lost key defensive contributors from last year but they'll struggle through poor performances at QB. And unlike the Jets of 2009-2010, Denver doesn't have the type of run game to lead the way.

In regards to Mark Sanchez, I had so much hope for the kid heading into his 3rd year after two AFC Championship Games. He played very well during the playoffs as well. Unfortunately he only continued to regress from there.

Legwold was expressing his opinion, Siemian hasn't won anything yet.

He was named the starter for the next pre-season game. That's it.

It's amazing the meaning that gets attached to some things in pre-season.

Well he's starting PS week 3. I can't think of a time a QB started PS week 3 and wasn't the starter.

They might not be as good because of the defensive players they lost but to think their qb performance can get any worse than last year is ridiculous. They were almost last in every category.

Sanchez has all the tools and ability. Unfortunately, he is too inconsistent to be a starting QB in the NFL. He would be a solid #2 though.

Idk if they will be fine or not. Highly doubt they repeat or even make it to the SB again but they are still the best in their division.

There defense is still one of the best in the league and they still have an all world receiving core... They'll be a playoff team despite the QB.

Not like Manning or Osweiler were good QB's for them last year when they won the SB.

Manning had a very bad season last year (statistically speaking) but @ the end of the day was still #18 in which opposing defenses had to respect.

We all know how dominant Denver's defense was. Without question led them to a S.B title but don't sleep on Brock Osweiler's impact for Denver last season. He had some familiarity within their system and there's a reason why he's now Houston's starting QB. He wasn't great, but he was pretty efficient. He wasn't a rookie either (drafted in 2012 he had 3 years in Denver's system to develop from the outside looking in under Manning).

Denver went 5-2 with Brock under center. He put up a completion percentage of 61.8%. 10 TD's/6 INT's along with a solid QB Rating of 86.4

Trevor Siemian? He's a 7th rounder out of Northwestern who's only had 1 year of 3rd string NFL experience last year as a rookie. I'm sorry, but Denver doesn't have the type of run game for this kid to not become fully exposed and it's just my opinion but he'll fall flat on his face against complex NFL defenses.

Stout defense or not I don't see Denver making the playoffs this year and could easily see them finishing 3rd behind both Kansas City & an emerging Oakland Raiders team with a Franchise caliber QB Derek Carr, an electric #1 WR in Amari Cooper, a strong offensive line along with a tough defense being led by Khalil Mack.

Without a top notch ground & pound either of Siemian or Sanchez will become exposed while falling flat on their face. Denver doesn't make the playoffs this year.

As Jet fans we know 1st hand that life isn't easy without a QB. Those 2009/2010 AFC Championship teams, even with elite defenses, wouldn't have even sniffed the playoffs without a ground and pound rushing attack ranking top 1-5. Denver, unlike those Jet teams; do not have a dominant run game to fall back on. Their QB's will become exposed and the team will decline because of it.

Amazing how the Jets managed to pick two QB's that are so eerily similar in gameplay strengths and deficiencies. Between those two and Fitzpatrick's strange penitent to not slide I'm hoping that the first thing they teach our young QB's going forward is first, how to throw the ball away, with a close second being, how and when to slide. If the guy can't manage to do either then just cut your losses and walk away.

All Sanchez has to do is make the roster. If he does, an injury to one player could be all that stands between him and SB winnning hero.

He is severely lacking in the following tools and ability: Judgement, pocket awareness, internal clock, clock management, handling on field adversity, maturity, blitz identity, reading complex defenses, age appropriate club hook-ups, sideline food choices and avoiding the rear ends of his offensive linemen,

O.k, but behind what run game though?

Sanchez had top notch ground & pound rushing attacks to hide behind throughout 2009-2010 while with the Jets. We A.) Ran more than any team in the league & B.) Passed fewer than any other team (over those two years).

However; that's not the case with Denver. Sanchez would become fully exposed having to quarterback for the Broncos (without a top 5 run game).

    No chance.

Yep. Not getting cut, plus about 2 dozen turnovers and 6-7 pick 6s. And no running game..... Would stand on his way to SB winning hero.

    Besides that, he is set

Denver didn't need a rushing attack to win it last year.
