I chased those bitches off this fucking board like mice.

One of those guys came on here trying to solicit Jets writers for his site, and I took a look at the site, and it was about the most one-sided chowderfag tripe you could find anywhere, all the while people were cooing over the chance to be the lotto pick for Jets writer on a site they hadn't even read.

I called him out on it and that dude got all bloody in the vagina and took his toys and ran home.

    You'd have to ask Vandy.

As an aside, do you prounce the word "homage" as "ha-mij" or "oe-mahhhj"?

I have a friend (really family, married in), who is of Native American descent and he tells me that the word redskins came from scalping. When the "white man" decided to get revenge at the tribes who scalped them, they repaid them in the same way, by scalping them back. The scalps themselves were then referred to as "red skins" and delivered back to the tribes. If that's true, it's definitely offensive. Honestly, though, I've read so many different origins of the word, who really knows what is the "right" definition at this point. If people are legitimately offended, then change the name... but then also change Fighting Irish, Vikings and every other name that is offensive to any group of people.

I usually just whip a curved blade about my head and kill any non-believers in my radius.

If you're going to speak 'Grenouille' then it would be a silent 'h' (ref. t the word hommage)

That said, over here there's been this pretentious de-Anglicization groundswell of "oh-magzh" that's catching on and becoming fashionable among the hipster and literati sets.

Simple pronunciations are difficult for some ;)
I would say to consult socks for guidance but he'll start talking about the Heartbreakers (or how he predicted the outcome of this thread).

It all depends how you use the word, soxx wants us all to bow down and pay "ha-mij" to the redskins but this thread is an "oe-mahhhj" to the fact that no one gives a shit.

How else would you pronounce "petit" other than to wrap a scarf around your dainty neck, tip your left pinky in the air and say "puh-TEE!" with a squeaky voice?

The only alternative is to spell the word differently.

I think most philistines over-emphasize the "h" when entirely grammatically inappropriate.

Yet I find myself slightly embarrassed when I say "urb" when asking my local grocer stock boy for tarragon.

Also the preface of an "a" instead of "an" whilst using the silent "h" is perturbing.

Btw, my brother insists on calling one of the dishes I make "shrimps".

I think he may have been adopted.

^Yeah I wonder about the "an" thing as well. I can see using an before "herb" because the H is silent, but so many people say "an historic event". Why??? The H is definitely not silent in history. Are those people just stupid and want to sound intelligent but fail? This isn't middle english, and that shit really irks me.

Yeah, this is all driven by media, not native Americans. Fake outrage that the loudest screamer typically gets attention and sadly, their way. It's a troubling trend in this country and not one that will have a good outcome. Teaching our kids and nation to scream and point fingers is not a constructive way to carry on.

What isn't helping matters is stupid and arrogant Danny boy who had an opportunity to blather something PC like "the Redskins organization in no way intends to offend, instead symbolizes strength and courage and blah, blah, blah" but instead he came out and said he would never, ever change the name which in essence poured fuel on the flames. He's going to lose on this because he's stupid and doesn't understand the strength of fake outrage that rules our country today.
