I would really love to know if you guys could provide a tutorial or a link to a tutorial on how to make backgrounds like you see below:

I'm aware of how to put people into sigs, with erasing and all that, but making backgrounds using blending and brushing has always confused me.

Also putting in cool looking test is something I'm unable to accomplish.

What I can do as of now is seen below:

edit-never mind I found a link with tutorial from an old post.

Anyhow, wat do you guys think of the first sig I made?

The backgrounds I use are just off the internet.

Help will be appreciated.

fading: layer>add layer mask>reveal all, use the gradient overlay tool and click and drag to make the image fade

Yeah, that's not the only way to blend. There are multiple ways to blend.
