Don Knotts Dies
NPR is reporting that Don Knotts has died. He was 81.
Knotts died Frirday of pulmonary and respiratory complications in Beverly Hills.
Best known as TV's Barney Fife from "The Andy Griffith Show" then later taking over as Mr. Furley on "Three's Company," the skinny funnyman’s career spanned generations and earned him five Emmys.
Without a doubt, I will always remember him as "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" -- it's a toss-up between that and Luther Heggs from "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken."
Knotts most recent significant film role was in 1998's "Pleasantville." Since then, he has been doing a lot of TV and film voice work, most recently voicing the character of Mayor Turkey Lurkey in 2005's "Chicken Little." -- Rachel Cericola
