Stout is actually a solid bar. Mutlitple bars and 3 floors. I bet they have big screens out for the downstairs bar.

The Blarny Stone near the garden on 9th is not bad either. They have cheap beer and decent specials.. there is also the blarny rock next to stout. on a side note, the Blarny Stone on 9th makes an insane kick ass steak sanswich on garlic bread.

Well, having the good fortune of growing up in New York, there is only one bar in the end when you think about it, and it is called
MCSORLEYS
It's not a sports bar, but it is sport drinking in the highest order.

Lite or Dark .. if the mug is not full get out of the bar, that about sums it up

For trips to the game, some friends of mine and I go the economic route with a slice of pizza and a $4 32oz cup of any domestic on tap at Rosa's Pizza on the LIRR level in Penn. I think it's $5 for an import. It's obviously not 5-star dining but for a couple of young guys not trying to blow $30 on beers and food before the game at Stout or the like, it's a solid spot.

Ah, bad pizza and (relatively) cheap beer in Penn Station. Now there's a great way to fall asleep and wake up in Huntington.

I just know the Port Jefferson branch because my parents had that kind of cash. To this day a buddy of mine laugh's maniacally whenever he hears "Merillon Avenue."

My stop was Douglaston on the Port Washington line, a mere 18 minute jaunt to Penn Station, it was beautiful.

20 of each please!! you have to order by at least the 20's to start in that place as the waiters are constantly in motion carrying 50 mugs at a time to people, it's awfully impressive in there.
