The question is, would she miss the dance recital to go to the draft with you?

Go to the recital or face being cut off for a while. Plus, you should never do anything that she will remember for years to come. Women have an elephant's memory for stuff like that.

If you cave on this you're just going to be trampled over for the rest of your life.

That's preferrable to sleeping on the couch for a couple of months. You could wind up injuring your arm from using the wrist too much. :)

Man there must be a bunch of just absolutely miserable married guys posting in these threads. Just cause you're dating or even married to a chick doesn't mean you can't have your own seperate interests or hobbies.

If you're with a girl that's such a bitch that she can't stand you refusing to miss something you love to go to some event of hers you have no interest in maybe it's time to look for someone else. I mean, it's not like he's saying "not only am I not going, but you're going to stay home with me and watch the draft"(which is in effect the demand she's making of him).

Guys are such bitches nowadays, honestly.

Absolutely.

My fiance took the liberty of scheduling some pre-cana shit on the 29th of April (draft day). I love the draft and could giva a shit about the church, so she's rescheduling as we speak.

CMArtinJET, if you don't want to go and would rather watch the draft, then don't go. It's that simple. If you're going to be marrying this chick then it would be ill advised to start caving in to everything, otherwise she'll expect the same result at every conflict of events you have.

If she's allready calling the shots then you're doomed to end up like all these poor bastards who have to sleep on the couch because they dared to indulge in something that they wanted to do (provided it's something harmless like the draft).

Well I have been married long enough to have laid all the groundwork. The wife knows the type of events (for lack of a better word) that I would be willing to attend and those that the she knows not to bother asking me. But in the end if it was something that she felt so strongly about that my options were:

1. Be miserable for a few hours while having to attend some event that I despise.

2. Sleeping on the couch for a few weeks.

Well I am smart enough to choose option 1. The sacrifices that we men must make to keep the wife happy.

I'm just fortunate enough to have a woman who understands priorities. She knows my Jets (and the draft, by association) come before anything. Well, except some stuff that may actually be more important. This...nah. Watch the draft. She will understand, or you will come off lucky in the long run.

It seems to be a close race with the men holding a slight advantage over the pussies..

I say go and while she is on stage, try to bang the leader of the rival team. It will take your mind off the missed draft.

She's like i'm not going to be stuck at home while her friends are at the ball. Looks like its the couch for a couple weeks men.

Who's stopping her from going? She can't stand the crushing embarassment of attending such an event alone?

on a related note, is there anything worse then having to miss the draft?

It may be boring but it's the only thing you have to look foward to for months. I had to miss it last year and it was brutal knowing that it was the only mildly entertaining football even for months.

You'd be better off hiring her an escort for the evening than sitting through that while the draft is going on..

Everyone knows i'm the fiance so they all know me so they are expecting me to be there thats why I can't hire an escort. Maybe she could go with like a gay friend or something haha
Maybe Murrell could step in for you....

When I was 18 or so, I turned down an entire parent free empty house weekend( a big deal for an 18 year old) of nothing but sex w/ my gf at the time(she even offered to bend over)..so that I could watch the draft.

I cant say that I regret it.

This is the time to establish the ground rules. Cave in here.... and the next thing you know, she'll be beitching about you watching, or going to Jets games. Been there, done that.

Be strong now, or you are in for several years of hell. Then, like me, once you get divorced, and she wants to go to brucnh, you can tell her you are unavialable.... there is a Jets game on. You want this marriage to last? Lay down the rules now.... or forever be cursed.... well, at least until the seperation papers come down.

Why didn't you bang her while watching the draft? That would've been ultra sexy.

You should go to the recital thing. Its not like your going to hear any news there, I doubt very much that anyone there would know the outcome.

Yes it wouldve been, but she would have pulled the "feminine constant attention" thing. That wouldnt have gone over well on draft day.Plus if it had been the BT draft and I was banging her...she might be dead right now.

Well the couch aint so bad, you get used to it. Plus a shorter walk to the fridge in the middle of the night.

My advice, is go to the ball. Make her happy.

If you mean the NFL draft you know the Jets are going to upset you anyway so that should make the decision easier.
