Hi -
AFL and Patriots fan since the early days of Babe Parelli etc. Not particularly a Jets fan but rooted for the Jets in Superbowl III because I wanted the AFL to win. I hate the old NFL teams especially the Giants because I grew up in New England where some of my relatives were Giants fans because they were the closest pro team before the Patriots. Hate the Steelers too because I have a brother living in Pissburg and his wife is a fat obnoxious Squeelers fan.
Interested in Jets information because of the rivalry that is taking hold. It's always more interesting when there is a good intra division rival that you meet a couple of times a year.

Hey GangGreen! My name is Max and I live in Central Jersey. I've been a Jets fan since I was able to watch and understand the game of football, so about 18 years or so (I'll be 23 in September). I've lurked around this board for a long time, but I figured it was time for me to finally register and join in on the fun!
Glad to see a great resource for fellow Jets fans. My friends are all Eagles/Patriots fans, so you can imagine how difficult it would be to talk football with them!
Glad to be here, and hope to get more involved soon!

Hey all, I'm Will. Moved from Verona, NJ down to DC a few years back. Been watching every Jets game down at Dogwood Inn in Falls Church, VA for a couple of years. I miss going I haven't missed a beat.
Went to the National Sports Card Convention last year and traded a Jordan auto for a Sanchez auto/rookie. Simply because I'd rather have a Jet.
Vinny's ruptured Achilles killed all the hope I had in 1999 and I still find it hilarious that they used Tupa as QB that game. Man that was a rough year. It wound up with helping set up a Ray Lucas Day in my hometown's Lutheran church. What does that mean exactly? Nothing really--but I have a Ray Lucas Day t-shirt that I wear proudly.
Stoked as hell about this season, looking forward to most of what this board offers.

Long time Jets fan, just recently found this site and I love it. Been a Jets fan for about 17 years growing up in Jersey my dad would take me to a few games every season and I fell in love with the game. My whole family are big Jets/Giants fans so it's always a good time. Living out in AZ now but that hasn't changed a thing. I miss going to the Meadowlands and watching the games, maybe one day I'll be back. GO JETS!

I've been a lifelong Jets, Orioles and Notre Dame fan. I'm from South Bend (that covers ND), but my dad received two jerseys as a young kid - 1) A Brooks Robinson jersey (my middle name is Brooks because of that) 2) a Joe Namath jersey. Because of that, my dad, myself and my older brother have been Jets faithful since I can remember. We had our first trip to a Jets homegame last fall for the Texans game where we came back. It was by far the best sporting experience of my life, glad to be apart of Jets Nation

Hi All!
I'm fairly new to the board. 1st year STH - Section 128
I'm also a fairly "new" fan......only about 5 years now.
I never got into football before that. Probably because my whole family are Giants fans.....and something always felt WRONG about that.
Now I've found my place! Looking forward to the season! :jets:

Hey, good to be here. I do have one quick question. I grew up in Ohio. Was a Bengals fan for 30 years. But I've had enough. Had friends in NYC growing up. Loved the town when I've visited. Never pulled for a NY team, either. But I respect Ryan, love the rabid fan base and think the team's committed to winning. So, is it OK to join Jets Nation?

Long time member reader/lurker guess I should say a word or two
Been a Jets fan since mid/late 80's starting off as a casual fan but later part of 90's and trips to States and internet got me more into it. I was also a full on acid house devotee so the years '87 to '98 are kind of a hedonistic blur
Been a supporter of B Moore from day one coming from his season in NFL Europe. Proud to say my stepson loves football and is a Jets fan because of watching games with me.
Maybe this year I'll make more of a contribution

Hey guys,
I have been lurking this forum for some time now. Thought I'd officially join the party. While i was not born into the Jet family, I definitely integrated myself once moving to the states in the early 90's. Since then I have always been a Jets fan with the hunger to learn more about the long history of this epic franchise. Whether it be reading books or watching old games - can never have enough green in ones life. I have lived in New York City much of my life, but believe me when I say - I have experienced the hostile environment of New England for 4 years. Yes I lived in enemy territory for a few years, but am proud to say, I spent $80 to wipe my ass with Tom Brady's jersey after their super bowl win against the rams. I later hung it out my apartment window as they paraded around the smelly city named Boston. I absolutely hate the Patriots, the Red Sox, and the Bruins. I wish Ben Affleck nothing but the worst in his endeavors as an "actor" - we all know he belongs in Tom Brady's home video's and not the big screen.
I hope we have a strong, healthy, Super Bowl season, and I apologize if I may have offended anybody with any of the above!

Hello JETS NATION!!!
My name is Antonescu Andrei, I am from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Europe.
I started to play Madden (think it was 06-07) on the PC and just loved the game. Then i started to watch games and choose JETS as my favorite team, don't know what it was that made me choose them but I don't regret it.
Since then i got up (usually games are around 3 AM here) to watch almost every game.
I also started an amateur Football team here in Cluj-Napoca, where i am vicepresident and we have a coach that played and coached in Mexico.
I play ILB/LT, at first i was SS/RB but i got some weight and ended up playing at this positions. Football in Romania is at the beginning, people still don't get it, but we try our best to make them understand and like it. There are only 5 teams in our country, last year we were second, this year we trained all summer and i hope we can get 1st place.
TOP 3 JETS (current):
1) Nick Mangold
2) Darelle Revis
3) Jim Leonhard
TOP 3 JETS (all-time):
1) Wayne Chrebet
2) Mo Lewis
3) Joe Namath
Liked Cotchery a lot, too bad he isn't on the team, he is better than Mason, also Edwards is better than Plaxico. Hope we can improve our O-Line, Vlad had a very poor performance.
In the end I hope this year we are going to be Superbowl Champions! :jets:

Hi all, I have been a Jets fan since 1980. Watching the NY Sack Exchange, especially Klecko and Gastineau, was what made me want to play football. I wasn't born the last time we won a SB. One of the things right at the top of my Bucket list is celebrating the Jets winning the Lombardi Trophy.
Also, I think Brian Schottenheimer is our Achilles heel.

So ive seen my share of ups and downs. Wasnt sure if we'd ever get out of mediocrity until Rex came aboard. He's done a great job at changing the culture of this team. When Parcells was here i really felt like he was gonna get us over the hump and get us to the SB, but he didnt stay long enough. I love our chances now we got a great squad im so amped for this season. Its funny hearin the words jets and contenders in the same sentence. Hope to hear from u all soon stay safe with this incomin storm and go jets!:metal:

Hi, my name is Jerry and I've been a Jets fan for 20 years. It has been eight months since I last used Jets. It can be really shitty to use Jets. This is because using Jets invariably leads to stress, heartbreak, and rationalization following ignominious defeat. However, I will not quit using now because the Jets are going to go really high this year, higher than they've ever taken me before. Higher than jets can go. You don't know them like I do, man. Who do I turn this chip back in to?

Hello, guys. I've just started posting here. I've been a Jets season ticket holder since 1989. Used to sit in section 321 at the old stadium. Two home playoff games in 30 years -- ouch! This year, I"m hoping.
I wanted to reach out to find other Jets fans, particular from Central NJ where I live. My old tailgate posse broke up when most of the guys failed to renew their tickets. I'm hoping to hook up with some new tailgaters, and perhaps be able to find a few folks to car pool with and get together to watch away games together.
I'm a golfer and a poker player, I run an NFL picks pool (for 20 years) and I'm also a Mets fan and a fantasy baseball player from way back.
looking foward to some interaction with other Jets fans!
Cheers!

Hello everyone, I'm an 18 year old Dominican from the Bronx. Spent the 90s in NY, the early 2000s in DR. So truthfully, I was raised with baseball & basketball. Just recently back in high school, I started enjoying and appreciating the game of football more.
I took the time to learn the game & intricacies of football & the history of the NFL, as well as the New York Jets. I won't claim to be an expert, but I clearly know enough to hold my own in any sports conversation haha.
Anyways, looking forward to interact with fellow Jets fans :)

But, to come on today and see this fucktard not only kept posting in the thread and then started insulting people, wow.
I hope he comes to the tailgate, so he can get a fucking dent in his forehead. I was 7 years old when the Saints were born and I am from New Orleans. So, I have been a huge NFL fan since then.
I was stationed in the NY Jets market area on active duty with the military from 2004 through 2007, and, I grew to be a fan of the New York Jets during those years. I am still a Jets fan today. Of course, I'm a "home team" guy, and the Saints are my favorite team, but, I still consider myself to be a Jets fan.
I listened to and watched TONS of SNY and WFAN during those years living in the Jets market area, and, the Jets fans and the Jets themselves just grew on me. I am a blue collar Jets kinda guy.
All of that said, I'd like to re join this community of Jets fans. I have not posted in a long time. I'm going to follow this message board more closely because I am REALLY ready for another New York Jets Superbowl Championship. No fanbase is more deserving of another ring than is the New York Jet fanbase.
The Patriots look unbeatable right now. How in the heck are our Jets going to beat them? I don't know, but, by following this message board, I'll find out from a Jet fan.
I heard that this was the BEST Jets message board, so, here I am. Thanks.

I am an almost life long Jets fan. I went to my first Titans game in the Polo Grounds with the NYPD Police Athletic league in 1960 or 1961 when I was 10 or or 11. I went to a number of games in Shea after the renaming to Jets.
I grew up in the Bronx with a family of Giants fans and went another direction. I moved to New Hampshire and lived amongst the Pats and Red Sox fans for 20+ years but never gave up on my beloved Jets.
Currently I live just outside of Annapolis MD amidst a mixture of Raven and Redskin fans. Hard to find a Jet fan in these parts but I still wear my colors proudly. I have lurked here off and on and since I am going to the Jets/Pats game in November I decided to join and see what happens.
Thanks for having me.

Hi, Im Freshman down at UofA and I have been a Jets fan ever since I can remember. After years of seeing my dad and my sister posting in this forum I decided that it would be a good time to start myself. I started watching the Jets with a group of Jet fans down at a pizza place called No Anchovies, but before I went to college I watched the Jets on Directv. I love this team and I hope someday we can win a Super Bowl. Nice to meet everyone!

Hello All,
New to the Gang Green world. My son is on the team so I find myself "knee deep" in everything Jets related! Located down in north Dallas and hope to make it up for a game in the next few weeks. We did, however, make it for the preseason opener in Houston! I have been monitoring the board for a few weeks and decided to step in and introduce myself.
Go Jets!!!!

I was planning on it... but tickets are crazy expensive, and there are none on NFL ticket exchange.
Also... too many here discouraged me from going due to Pats fans nasty attitude towards Jets fans (which I got a little taste of at Pats training camp a couple months ago).
Also... if 45-3 happened again.. and I was in the nosebleed section... I may be tempted to plummet myself onto the field and as steep as that stadium is, that is actually not impossible

Another long time lurker. I was born into a Jets family, grew up on Long Island, and moved out to LA for college. I'll be staying in LA for medical school and am growing roots out here, but will always remain a passionate Jets fan! My family is spread all over the US but every fall sunday we come together (electronically) to root for our beloved Jets.
Although I'm not nearly as football-smart as some on here, I too hope to contribute my insight, opinions, and hatred of Schitty on the forum.

Fair question, honest answers:
1. I've been unfairly banned, not interested in being deprived of the ability to post my thoughts on the Jets and have good debate with Jets fans for a few weeks. Cracked a joke to friends who knew better, they decided to play the "I'm taking his sarcasm seriously this time" game, got a mod who shouldn't be a mod to target me, boom, I'm banned. Bad mod, quick ban-finger, and an inconsistent approach to who gets punished. Not a good scene right now.
2. After 5 years, the board is beginning to sour over there for a few reasons, hope they haven't infected TGG in the same way. You've got a mix of guys who've been there forever who like to mock everyone, a nasty sort of clique. At the same time, you've got all these newbs who don't understand what a discussion forum is, act like the place is Twitter. Endless threads with one line comments, just newbs shouting at the sky, not really contributing, Tweeting instead of debating.
3. My posting style relies heavily on having a good sense of humor, understanding sarcasm, and having a grade school education.
4. Lastly, I like the idea of a new audience. I like being appreciated. And I always am.

Thanks, and no worries from me. I never engage in personal attacks, only attack subject matter. Because what I post tends to provoke emotion, often posters who reply to me cross that line and don't mind. Very thick skin. I'm told the mods here are fair and balanced, so I'm sure I'll be no bother and fit in just fine.
If there's any way to get around the 50 post rule before you can start a thread, I'd appreciate it. I'm very wealthy, so I can pay for that privilege if it's an option. I've got 10 in the last hour, will save me the trouble of saying up until 1:38 to cross the threshold.

Penis size is decently above average but not porn-star.
Wife is not supermodel in looks, but she's a VP with a major-league annual salary which trumps supermodel any day. And, besides, with her incremental income I can get an 18 year old $500 rental in any hotel room in America a few times a month. It's all good.

Exactly.
The wealthy know how to stay wealthy, in large part, because we know how not to spend money.
My leased BMW is to my financial situation the way a leased Hyundai is to those who are less fortunate. Not the best I can do by a stretch, but there's no way I'd buy a $100,000 car just because I could.

Troll accounts really shouldn't draw attention to themselves by trolling about our deceased friends. As far as JI is concerned, the biggest issue you had was a certain pedophile mod.

Exactly.
The wealthy know how to stay wealthy, in large part, because we know how not to spend money.
My leased BMW is to my financial situation the way a leased Hyundai is to those who are less fortunate. Not the best I can do by a stretch, but there's no way I'd buy a $100,000 car just because I could.
SAR I
If you have to worry about maintaining your wealth in the face of a $100,000 car, you're not pretending to be as wealthy as you think you're pretending to be.

Hello everyone!
I've been lurking for a couple months, and I finally decided to join. I got into Football in 2004 at age 11. I live in San Diego but have never been a Chargers fan, rooted for the Jets in the 2004 AFC Wild Card, and been a fan ever since.

Hi All,
Just signed up, glad to find a place to interact with fellow Jet fans. I live in Toronto Canada (the Wifey brought me here back in the day) Originally from Queens NY grew up in the shadow of Shea and remember the good old days. Saw OJ break the rushing record against the Jets was the one and only game I ever went to with my dad. Have taken my son to Jet games in Buffalo and more recently in the new Meadowlands including the 911 opener against Dallas which totally brought it all home for me. I never went to the old Meadowlands as I always felt like it was somebody else's home. Anyway enough about me just glad to amongst the green and white!

We've got some fantastic posters here from the UK. I can't comment on tailgating, but if you stick around a while and contribute, there's an annual TGG tailgate. We'll have 2 UKers and a displaced Englishman there next year.

Hello everyone, I’m Jim, from Philly just posting to introduce myself. When I was a kid, I never watched football as my weekends were spent playing ice hockey. When I went to college in the fall of 1996, my roommate/ defenseman was from Pittsburgh and was a huge Steelers fan, so I started to watch the games with him. For whatever reason I decided I was a Jet fan and have been ever since. I must admit, I am a diehard Philly fan but when it comes to football, I am Green and White all the way! My friends, to this day still shake their heads when I show up to the bar or a party in my Jet colors.

Hey Everybody!
New to the forum here. My name is Mitch, I live in Jupiter, FL, but lived the first 30 years of my life in NJ.
I have been a Jets fan my whole life, I guess I have my dad to blame for that, as he is a long time Jets fan too.
I usually only get to 1 game a year, when the Jets play the Dolphins in Miami at whatever they are calling their stadium this year. Always a great time to see the Dolphins replay the Dan Marino fake spike play every year on the jumbotron (btw, I was at that game in the Meadowlands).
I went to Rutgers University but am not too much of a homer to realize Jamaal Westerman is not very good.
Looking forward to taking part in the Jets talk around here!

Hey guys, my name is John. I was actually a member of the site way back in 2009 but my account got deleted from inactivity.
I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I got interested in the Jets (and football) seriously back in 2009 when a friend of my con'd me into joining a fantasy football league. My first week I went 16/16 and have been going downhill ever since.
Why am I a Jets fan? It seemed fitting since I fucking hate Tom Brady and the Patriots.
I've gone a little overboard in the jersey department, I enjoy going to work in my #6 Sanchez just so random people on the street talk shit.
Currently own a Tomlinson, Revis, Sanchez and Scott. I have a blank (got shipped to me in error) and I think I'm going to get a Mangold.
My buddy is a Cowboys fan and he swears every time the game is on "I wish I had never introduced you to football. Fuck you, and fuck the Jets."
J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS!
Hey all.
As I wrote in my first post I've been following the Jets now for the last 2 seasons from Melbourne, Australia. I've watched NFL sporadically over the last 10-15 years but due to limited air time in Australia it was hard to watch consistently and I couldn't get a grasp on the rules and the intricacies of the game. Now with 5-6 games being shown every week for the last few years I've been able to get a hang of the game and it's now my second favuorite sport behind Australian Football (AFL). It works out well because the AFL season goes from March-September and the NFL runs September-February so there is no real off-season for me!
I don't know why I picked the Jets I just found myself start to barrack for them after following a few teams (including Philly, Colts, Panthers, Bears, Lions & Redskins). I knew they were my team when watching them lose started to hurt and the wins gave me a rush. It doesn't hurt that they get frequent airtime in Australia also, but I think the game that solidified my support for the Jets was the playoff win last season against the Pats. I hate the Pats and Brady which seems like I made a good choice being a Jets fan. The rivalry is alive for me also as my now fiance who started watching games with me when I had the TV on adopted the Patriots as her team despite me telling her all the reasons why she shouldn't support them. I get a pretty hard time because the team I follow in AFL (Melbourne Demons) hasn't won a premiership since 1964 (which gives me some empathy for the Jets) while her team (Geelong Cats) has won 3 of the last 5. So like most of you I am praying that the Pats don't get up this year.
Anyway I've been reading here most of this season and it is good to be on board. I hope I can contribute but if something I say doesn't make sense it is because I am still learning the game so I am happy to be given some friendly hints from others here.

We've got a few Aussie posters here, SydneyDon and Satan are two regulars. Both came onboard when Ben Graham started playing for the Jets. Watched the Grand Final this past year and because of Graham I rooted for Geelong so I was happy with the result. SydneyDon was actually there.
Yeah I was going for Geelong in the final as well considering they were playing Collingwood who are very much a love them or loathe them team (like the Raiders or the Cowboys I guess?) Was a great game up until the last quarter also but very much hoping I can see the Demons and the Jets score some silverware over the next few years.

I've been observing theganggreen website for awhile, but have not posted anything up until now. I have been a die hard Jet fan my entire life. I'm 32 now....so I've been a fan for about 25 yrs. Needless to say, but its been painful.
I have a ton of thoughts about this current disappointing season but will keep it short in this introdcutory post.
1: Sanchez is awful. His lack of football IQ is upsetting to me, and I understand that this is not entirely his fault. Tannenbaum, Rex, and Shotty all have a role in his lack of development over the last three seasons.
2: Rex needs a new gameplan. Stop being these guys friends and hold them accountable for making basic football plays that I and they learned in pop warner football. Tackling, running, no penalitiies, catching the football to name a few.
3: We need a bonafide pass rusher. Maybin is encouraging, but would love one other DE or linebacker help in this effort.
4:Greene is a #2 Running Back unless we upgrade our O-line. His 4.1 yd average is not bad, but he can't break for the long run, and the playcalling does not help his effort.
5:Shotty must go! He has the offense playing scared and that's unacceptable. Anything in life...if you go about it timid or scared...you will not be successful.
Talk to you guys soon.

Hello all, I'm not a Jets fan. In fact I love the Jets like I love green katchup, I don't! But I am not here to pick fights, I'm just here to exchange info and let our healthy rivalry brew to a healthy simmer, just enough so it is fun. I guess it is obvious by my user name that I'm a Patriots fan. Ok you can stop booing now....no really guys its okay...get all your boos out now. I actually grew up in Westchester NY, in the 80s and even then I despised the Jets. I guess you can say I had too many annoying 'friends' that loved the Green, and the only satisfaction I got is when #13 started winning division titles year after year. When the Dolphins started to slide in to crumminess- I was forced to switch allegiances to the only other team which could satiate my taste for Jets blood and here I am today on the page of my arch-enemy. See you next year, Ladies and Jets.

Hey guys,
I found this site at the start of the season, and lurked since then so I could get a feel for the place. Didn't want to post anywhere until I found out what would get a fat bronx cheer from everyone. Was brought up a Jets/Mets fan by my father and grandfather who has suffered along since his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers left town.
I'm from Orange County NY, and have been to a few games at both Meadowlands stadiums. Hope to contribute where my thoughts will benefit the discussions.

I am a huge JETS fan living for the past 10 years in Texas breathing Dallas Cowboys and now Houston Texans. I am glad for the internet and The Gang Green that allows me to be in touch with JETS Nation at all times. I love Rex Ryan as a coach and I strongly believe he'll take this team to the Promise Land sooner than later. This past season was a regress, but sometimes you need that to recharge and move forward. GO JETS!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Kalind. I joined last week, but forgot to introduce myself. I wasn't a big football fan growing up, but ever since I got into football during the 2009 NFL season I came to be a fan of the Jets. I have seen previous Super Bowls before and did watch a few Jets games during the Parcells and Edwards era, but as a casual viewer.
I'm also a fan of the NY Yankees, Pro-Wrestling, and MMA (in case if anyone was curious) so if anyone wants to have a conversation about those topics I mentioned, I'll be open to discuss.

Sup guys, name's Matt from Bayonne. Huge Jet fan obviously and not enough Jet fan friends so I thought i'd venture out in the virtual world to find people who actually know what they're talking about. It was a tough season, worst possible super bowl match up is taking place (again), and we have a long and hopefully busy offseason a head of us and I look foward to sharing it with you.

Hahahahaa dude that avatar is hilarious. Welcome to the board! Don't be afraid to ask any question or talk about any topic. We have some negative people on here but thankfully most on here are positive and rational.

You'll learn plenty if you stick around and read the posts and arguments of the better posters on here. TGG is a great place to learn about this team, the NFL, the draft, and more. Welcome to the board!

I've been a Jet fan since 83, I was 4. I have stuck with this team through thick and thin, mostly thin. I have made my little brother a Jet fan and my son's room is covered in memorabilia. I HATE the giants and pats. This superbowl was the worst! I feel giant fans wanted to win just to rub it in our faces.
I believe one day we will have our Dynasty!!!!
I just hope I'm alive to see it!!!

Jets fan from Liverpool, England here. Been following the team for 5 years but really go into it this season having closely followed them throughout this season. Thought I'd educate myself further and the best place to do that seems among fellow Jets fans. I'm here to learn and also put my naive and uninformed bias opinion in aswell :p

Hey Everybody! I'm new here & was referred by a friend. I've been a Jets fan since I was a kid. My uncle was friends with Joe Klecko so I got to go to alot of the games and have dinner with the players afterwards. How many kids get to do that, huh?! I'll always be a Jets fan, no matter how much I get teased about it. I married a Giants fan who's constantly busting my chops. What was I thinking?? We all have our faults, right? Ha ha! Go Jets!!!

New poster here
I have been a jets fan since the late 80's and have been reading TGG for years and thought it's about time i contribute, this season has left me fucking miserable and as none of my mate's here follow the NFL i need to vent to some people who understand how brutal it is following the jets.
I'm a Man City fan as well and it blows following them as they have been shite for thirty odd years like the jets. I know what you guys are going through with giant fans as we constantly battle Man u fans year in year out only thing is we don't have to wait four years to get another pop at slapping them.
Anyway i think the jets will bounce back in 12 with a couple of upgrades at OLB and WR, and no matter what i bleed green and in some sick way i think we are all junkies to the depression the jets cause us. It's good to know you guys can relate to how gutted i am at this season as nobody here gives a rat' ass.
looking forward to contributing to some heated debates and lets hope this 42 years of grief ends in 12
