Hey peoples. Jet fan from Bayonne here, registered a while back forgot about this place. I post predominantly on another NFL message board (h2h) but not too many jet fans to talk with over there, so looking forward to some nice, green conversation here

How's it going, fellow Jets fans? Great to see so many fellow out-of-towners joining the community. I've been a long-time lurker on the site, but it's time I finally started participating. Figured the by week would be a good time to get started.

Originally from the Jersey shore, but I got transferred to San Francisco for work last year. Still have my seats in Section 143 and I will be making it back for the Packers game on Halloween.

It's a great year to be a Jets fan. Been a fan since the early 80s, so I've definitely been through some tough times.

Whats up! I am a Jets fan from LA. Big Keyshawn Johnson fan when he was a Trojan. When he held up that beautiful Jets jersey in New York my green love affair began. Ive seen every Jets game since 2004 and still am in disbelief that the class of the NFL are the Jets. Wasnt a fan of Rex trying to lose weight at first, but the results are tremendous!

Hello all, I'm a life-long member of the Jets cult from north Jersey. Can't wait to discuss the Jets smashing wins and hopefully very, very infrequent losses this season with you all. Greatest Jets moment: watching every minute of the great Monday Night comeback against the fish. Cheers

Hello everyone, used to post here about 5 years ago under a different name. Figured it was time for an updated name after a break from the board (old name was in relation to Ty Law - no more of that), but I've been lurking for the past year or so.

Big Jets fan (like the rest of you), season ticket holder for the last 10 years or so, been at every home game the last few years, and already been to Buffalo, with plans to go to Cleveland and Pittsburgh for some road games this year as well. Looking forward to chatting with all you awesome Jets fans about what will hopefully be an incredible rest of the season ending in Dallas! Go Jets!

Hey all, been posting for about 2 weeks now, forgot to introduce myself. I followed this board all last year and this past summer, amazed at how much knowledge you all have of our beloved Jets. As I stated in a post in another thread, 21 years old, live outside of Philadelphia (It sucks I know). Born and raised in Brooklyn though, pops is a die hard, and passed on the tradition to me. Haven't went a day without the Jets for the past 3 years now. Somehow everyday I incorporate my beloved Jets into my attire. I live and die by these guys every weekend. I personally don't understand how some members haven't had heart attacks following this team in the past. I'm just glad I'm young enough to really have only experienced the past few years as a true fan. Last year's run was fun, but this year has been amazing so far. I took off sports my senior year of college just so that I would never have to miss a game, when my dad asked me why I quit hockey this year... My answer was, when the Jets win the Super Bowl this year I want to be able to look back and think that I spent the best year of my life as a 21 year old senior enjoying the weekends screaming at 32 inch TV in my room alone, drinking a cold beer and watching the team I love. I can't get enough of this team and look forward to sharing my passion for the Jets as you all do on a daily basis. It is honestly one of the best parts of my day coming on here and seeing what fellow fans have to think because honestly you all are some of the funniest, straight to the point people I have ever interacted with. As I said, lookin forward to many years of this roller coaster ride with the rest of you!

What's up guys... I live in LA. No NFL team here except the defacto LA teams -- either the Raiders or the Chargers. No thanks. Started watching the Jets last year to follow former Trojan Mark Sanchez and really enjoyed watching Rex's unorthodox style of play. Even though Sanchez sucked for the most part, I've really become a Jets fan!

Looks like a cool place to hang, thanks for the site. =)

New Board member here.

Been a Jets fan since sometime in the 80's, we we first got a NY cable feed way up here in Canada. I have been to two games, one in Foxboro (Vinnie blew it with a pick 6), one in Oakland when Leon broke his leg.

I love the JETS.

I've been reading the posts a lot longer than I've been here (obviously - just joined today). Been a Jets fan for 20+ years (born and raised!) out of Amish Country here in Lancaster PA.

I have been here a few months and never noticed that I was supposed to introduce myself. Oops.

I will be the first and only one in this thread to admit that I am here because of Hard Knocks. I turned on HBO one night while I was picking up around the house waiting for True Blood to start and suddenly found myself glued to the TV watching a show about FOOTBALL of all freakin' things ;-)

'Hard Knocks' hooked me on the Jets, and this board and this season has completely reeled me in. Just six months ago I would have bet $$ that I would never be caught dead jumping down in my livingroom screaming at the TV like a maniac at a football game alongside my diehard Vikings fan husband and teen-aged Pats fan daughter. Our 8 year old son is quite torn and still hasn't decided who his team is.

I must admit, I also find being a Jets fan deep in Patriots Territory kinda fun.

So yeah... I am a total noob. But everyone has to start somewhere, right?

well the first 50 years of the Jets franchise.

didn't really know the Titans that much.

first game I watched on TV was the 1963 title game when I was 6.

Giants vs Bears.

Great, great game with all the storied players.

as you can tell by my nom de board.

I loves me some wide receivers and Tight ends

and the Jets have had some of the greats of the game.

Don Maynard
George Sauer
Al Toon
Wesley Ward
Rich Caster

to the more recent receivers :-)

I was really upset when John Riggins left the team
and for good reason, he was the man. Imagine if the Jets had him and not the skins. I loved me some Riggo.

anyway happy to be posting here.

Greetings to my fellow Gang Green members. It is nice to see commentary about the Jets for a change. I live in Vermont where everything is Patsies, Patsies, Brady, Patsies, Brady, Sox, etc. I grew up on LI and Newsday was a good paper for sports. Yes, majority was the local teams(jets, giants, islanders, etc), but you also read about what was happening league-wide. Up her in the GREEN Mountain state, it tends to be one-sided. So, I have to gather my sports info from other sources. Quite a few closet Jet fans up here; I usually hear them comment about my hard hat. My usual reply is "where's yours"? Been a Jet fan all my life. I have watched them struggle with themselves more often than not. O'Brian, Todd, the NY Sack Exchange, but I am very happy with Rex Ryan and believe he is the man to turn around the team. He has done a good job and hope they keep him long term. Some of his style reminds me of Parcells. I think they will do well this season. I even converted my wife once we were married; she was a Dallas fan, now she is a big Jets fan and and a Wayne Chrebet admirer.
Me Too brother. Jet Fan since '79.I live and die with them.We have been so close to the prize a few times but have been to the playoffs 12 times and that's alot more than some teams can say !The best thing so far this year was Cleveland. Finally got that payback for."86 Albiet a sligt lesser scale.I'm from Red Bank N,J.Now living in Pikeville KY.Best thing about that is when The Giants win I just block it out and don't have to hear about it all week.Maybe this is the year we can shut their fans up for good if we meet them in the Super Bowl! If we lose,1- I'll never set foot in Jersey again, 2_ Unplug my phone and 3_ contimplate suicide!! NOW IS OUR TIME Go Jets ,Beat the Pats and let's take that next step!!

I hopped on the Jets following Kyle Wilson's flight from Boise, Idaho. I live in Bronco Nation here in the Treasure Valley. Took me most of this season to find my way here but I made it. I may be a non-resident, but have enjoyed watching and learning about the NYJ. So if this is where us Greenhorns go to get gang banged, lets get this party started. No worries, I can take it, you can even bring your bat because I plan to stick like peanut butter and jelly.

Oh - and I enjoy long walks to the bench and just sitting down to re-write a schotty playbook.

A word of advice, don't tell people to go fuck themselves in the jets forum. It's a bannable offense.

Hopefully a mod doesn't pick up on it.

Hola amigos.

I'm Jose and I live in Spain.

I have two passions football and "soccer". I love New York Jets and Atletico de Madrid.

I watch all Jets matches (thank you God for internet and for game pass) and i was looking for a place to talk with other Jets fans, in Spain american football is not very followed and is difficult to talk with someone about my passion.

Here is difficult to be a Jet fan since the majority of people are Patriots, packers and cowboys fans. I think I'm the only Jets Fan in Spain.

I've been in New York only in two times, but it was in summer. My dream is two watch a match in New Meodolands...maybe some day.

I have been reading this forum long time ago, and now I want to take part of it.

I hope to have a good time with you and sorry if my english is not as good as others.

Is difficult to explain why i became a Jet fan. When I was a teen i loved to watch football games in TV, it was only possible to watch a game per week in Spain so i didn't have a favourite team.

A few years ago with internet it was easy to watch all games you want and i started to follow more and more the NFL.

I was in new york 5 years ago in summer, and I spoke with a lot of people about football and I met a lot of Giants and Jets fans who talked me about the enviroment in the Giants stadium (I noticed that there are more giants fans, maybe i'm wrong). As much as I knew the two sides more in love i was with Jets and more i dislike the giants.

So I started to watch all Jets games, read all news and blogs and I don't know when it happened, I had green blood in my vains.

Maybe, the main reason is that New York Jets is the most similar team to Atletico de Madrid (my team in the spanish soccer league) and have the same values. Whatever, now I know almost everything about Jets, I have a lot of merchandising, shirts and is a proud to say "I'M A JET FAN"

PD: I'm not negative or positive. I'm realistic and this year could be our year

Never had a team growing up; family is a bunch of Cowboys fans, but my Godfather is a Jets fan. Starting following the team very closely from the start of the '08-'09 season, now a big time fan. Attend all the practices over the summer, a couple of buddies of mine are big Jets fans, and through the collapse of the 2008 season, the success in 2009-2010, I love this team to death. Hello fellow Jets fans. I am happy to join this board as I have been a Jets fan since the mid to late 1960's. I usually post on another board, because in all honesty I didn't know about this board until I did a Google search. I am glad to have found this forum.

I am a die hard Jets fans, and have taken my lumps over the years as I grew up in South Florida, and had to endure the hated Dolphins and their moronic fans bashing Gang Green all the time. It sure feels good to have a consistently competitive team now. Some years as we all know were downright dreadful.

I no longer live in South Florida, although I do still live in Florida. I now live in the Panhandle which I have found to be more Saints fan based. Unfortunately most of the games on local TV here don't get the Jets regularly, so I go over to a friend's to watch them. They are die hard Jets fans too, and thankfully get NFL Sunday Ticket. I used to pay for the Ticket, but it became too cost prohibitive as I had to restructure my spending. Times are tough as we all know.

I look forward to reading and replying over the course of time as we watch our team try to win their next championship.

So now it is on to New England, for the game on Sunday at 4:30. That's 3:30 my time as I am in the Central Time Zone. I'll be at my friend's house, dressed in my Jets garb, rooting for them to stick it to Belichick, and his team. It will be tough and improbable, but not impossible. If Sanchez plays better, and is more accurate with his throws than last week at Indy, and the defense can sack or pressure Brady to get him out of his rhythm then they have a chance I think. Otherwise, it'll be see ya when camps open next year.

Go Gang Green! J E T S Jets Jets Jets!

26 years of age, born & raised in Queens (South Ozone), went to John Adams High School. Recently moved to a small city in Florida called Holiday (Pasco County) a little over 1 1/2 years ago. My wife of 4 years dreamed of living in Florida, so we made the move. I'm thankful she misses her family (as do I), so we'll be making the move back home shortly.

The Knicks were my first love. Loved B-Ball & the Knicks since I was 7 or 8. Ewing was my hero. Started following the Jets a couple years later back in 95. Really started to learn about the history of the Jets & the NFL in 97 once Parcells came to town. I've been bleeding green since. Broadway Vinny & the Jets were magical to me back in 98. I'm always sick over loses but the last time I cried over sports was back in 98 after the Denver loss. Never been a hockey fan, but I do pull for the Rangers. Turned my back on baseball when my dad did, the year after the strike. Thats when we stopped going to Met games.

Been reading these boards since the Herm days.

I too am a long time lurker who likes to see what everybody is saying. I have been a fan since 1972. Live and die with the JETS.

I have lived just outside of Cortland for the past 18+ years so it has been awesome of Rex to bring the JETS to my hometown. The highlight this past summer was meeting Bart Scott and Jamaal Westerman at Applebees.

Much of my hatred of the fish has been diverted to the patsies. I can't wait for this Sunday. I do remember the pain of the '82 and '98 Championship games. I remember Parcells loooking really glum aafter the Denver game and saying "it's so tough to get to this point." We can't waste this opportunity.

GO JETS!!

I have been a Jet's fan since they won in 69 when I was 13 and lived in New Jersey, Jets and Mets. At 18-19, I had to listen to them on the radio when Shea wasn't getting sold out and the TV was being blacked out. Wesley Walker .. down the sideline ... going deep ... touchdown. Through all the years, even the Joe must go and Kotite days, I have enjoyed watching alot of good hard played games regardless of the final outcome.

Once they moved to the Meadowslands we started going to at least a couple of games each year. For the last 4-5 years that we were in Jersey, I was good friends with a season ticket holder and my son and I went to most of the home games up until 2004 when we moved to Fl and our son went to collage at FSU. He is a good Jets fan who now lives in Orlando. I have Direct TV with the CBS East channel and I get to watch all their games unless they are on FOX and then I get them on the computer. Last time I saw them was with my son a couple of years ago in a preseason game against Tampa Bay which is the closet football stadium to me now.

I always hoped Buddy Ryan would end up Coaching the Jets and I am real happy to have Rex now. I was at the Jets-Bears game in Dec. 85 when they played a real close game until the fourth quarter with the then still undefeated Bears who went on to win the Superbowl that year with Buddy's defense. The football sure has been great since Rex got to the Jets.

Anyway hi everyone and I hope the Jets get to keep on playing.

Been a fan for 20 years and I like the Yanks! Odd mix some say but works for me. Phenomenal two year run with new QB and coach.

I would like to send out a hell yea to all Jets fans.
I live and work in the Boston area and I am not a Pats Fan, or a Jets fan to be honest.
I'm a Redskin fan.
I registered in your forum to let you know what you did to some of the most obnoxious fans on earth.
I came in Monday morning and you could have heard a pin drop. Nobody wants to talk football suddenly.
pretty much the same thing happened when the Giants beat them in their last Superbowl.
if they cant win they dont want to play. They are not sports fans they only pretend to be.
And I dont say this lightly, I AM a Red Sox fan, and a Celts Fan. And on the occasion that either of those two teams take it on the chin in any given year I still root for them, I still do the math and try and convince people we arent out of it yet, so on and so on.
Come on guys 20 games to play and the Yanks are only 8 up.

They dont want to hear it, they lose they start whining and preparing themselves for the possibility that you cant win them all, imagine that huh..., Its pathetic.

And you guys gave me a reason to watch football Sunday and someone to root for, feverishly.
And it was like candy baby, that catch in the endzone and my wife thought the Skins must have been on TV.... and then watching Belisick hang his head and whine, and the fans were crushed, and ARE just as crushed still today.

good luck the rest of the way.

A Skins fan in mopeville

Joined the site a few months ago and have been lurking. I actually grew up a giants fan as a little kid but spent many a sunday in the 80s watching the Jets with my dad. Everyone we knew were Giants fans and growing up he'd always say he felt like the only Jets fan on earth and made me promise that if he died, I would take his place as the only Jets fan on earth. Unfortunately that happened in 98, and the next day I was at Modell's getting a Chrebet jersey. It took a little getting used to, but I've become a die hard fan as an adult. Anyway, look forward to posting more in the future. Go JETS!

Hi all! I'm a long time Jets fan (since about 1980). I've lurked here and at some other sites but I think this is the best Jets board out there. I wanted to join because I love sharing in the highs and wallowing in the lows with other fans. Hopefully there are more highs to go this season.

Also, I decided that I want to watch the game this Sunday at home by myself instead of watching with friends or at a bar like I often do because I want to soak it all in. So I wanted some place where I could do that but still have interaction with my fellow fans. I think this is the place to do it!

I hope to be an active contributer on the board as well.

I was never really interested in the game. Only watched the super bowls. I was growing interested into the steelers but then I noticed a team with these awesome green and white uniforms. I started looking up information about the new york jets such as history, so I decided to become a fan for the underdog team. The day Mark Sanchez was drafted and Rex Ryan became head coach I knew something good was going to happen to this franchise. It was the perfect choice because my first year of being a true jets fan, the Jets went to the AFC championship. So I've been a jets fan for 2 1/2 years. Not a long time but I already grew attached to this team.

I'm a Brooklyn native living in Buffalo. I've been lurking pretty much all season, finally decided to register. Growing up, my Dad was a Giants fan but all my friends in High school and boss at work were Jets fans. I was rooted for both, but typically rooted the Jets on the rare occasions they played. That all changed when I moved to Buffalo in 2001, while I don't share the disdain for the Giants that most posters here seem to have, I decided to rep the green and white just to stick it in the craw of all the Bills fans here.

Hey everyone,

I have been a Jets fan all my life. I had an Irish grandmother who used to pace back and forth during games. She instilled the love for the team in me and without ever seeing them in the Superbowl (I am 32) I still love these guys. I was able to save up money and go to a game with my older brother for the first time this year. I love Rex Ryan and I think that Mark Sanchez is the future of the franchise. There will be a lot of changes this year (even though I really hope there won't be) but I believe in Rex's ability and foresight as a coach to make the proper adjustments.

I STILL BELIEVE.

Well, I suppose I'll take a shot at an introduction.

I'm a fan as a result of Rex Ryan. Why's that? In a word, heart. I don't have HBO but I managed to hear enough buzz about the Hard Knocks season that he caught my attention. When I found out that he was Buddy Ryan's son, I started paying more attention---I always was sort of fond of Buddyball. After a while of listening to Warner Wolf on Imus, I thought that, "Hey, this could be the real deal" and went from there. Flash forward to the days after the Patriots loss, when Imus et al were ragging on Ryan for his post-game remarks, playing a couple of clips from the conference. Let's go to the audio text:
I mean, humiliating, for one night. You know, shoot, I'll fight tomorrow. I'll guarantee you that. Humiliating? You know, it's the biggest butt whipping I've taken as a coach, in my career. But, I can promise you one thing. I'll be ready to play ‘em. I'll play them right now if they'll go out and do it again. You know, so that's the only way I know how to respond. I'll sit back out there and stick my chin out again.

I said to myself, "That's heart. I do like this guy---he's the antithesis of a soulless automaton existing solely to put rears in seats regardless of the on-field product, and I can respect that." I'm definitely new to the Jets and I don't live in the New York market, but I think I've found a team worth rooting for. It just took the combination of more than a quarter of a century and Rex Ryan to make it happen.

Hindsight being 20/20, I often lie awake at night wondering why I have chosen of my own free will to root for the Jets, Mets and Knicks for most of my 40+ years. I mostly blame my parents for living in Queens during my formative years. But since I have come this far no point in regretting my decision now.

My Jet Fan Timeline:

To view links in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily.

1980: Memories of losing to the 1-15 'Aint's. My youthful exuberance telling me "It can't get any worse?"... How wrong I am.

1981: My first case of real disappointment... Klecko & Gastineau... Wild Card against the Bills... Falling behind 24-0... Furious comeback... Coming up empty at the 2 yard line... sound familiar???

1982: Mud Bowl... 'nuff said.

1983: Coming home from school and listening to 1010 WINS to see who they drafted... Ken Who????

1984: We move to Jersey... Jets move to Meadowlands... seems almost karmic

1986: My favorite year as a sports fan... Mets win the series... OT Miami game... Heartbreak against the Browns... Gastineau with 2 boneheaded penalties... Mosely in OT.

1988: Knocking the Giants out of the playoffs... My first jersey #88

1989-1996: The Dark Ages... "Joe Must Go" Walton... Coslet... Browning Nagle... Byrd tragedy... Carroll... and finally the Kotite era. Man those were some tough years... hits rock bottom with the Houston Oiler game and 60,000 no shows at the Meadowlands.

1997: Parcells... return to respectability

1998: CuMar... Great season... even greater disappointment in the AFC Championship Game... What is up with these Jets showing up for only one half???

1999: Vinny's achilles!!!!

2000-2001: Chadwick drafted... Monday Night Miracle... Things looking up???... Not really... 2 years of late season collapse... lest we forget-the Belidick debacle

2002: "You play to win the game!!!"... Another collapse in the second half to Raiders in the playoffs.

2004: Doug Brien... 'Nuff said again.

2006-2008: The Penguin Years... I hate Brett Farve!!!!

2009-Present: Rex "Swag" Ryan... Finally a head coach I do not hate since Walt Michaels... 2 straight AFC Championship Games... A real franchise QB... For me the last two years almost make up for the previous 30+ years... almost.

2011-2012: AFC Division champs... League MVP-Mark Sanchez... Defensive MVP- Darrelle Revis... Super Bowl XLVI champs- NY "f'n" Jets

We all deserve this... don't we????

P.S. Schotty sucks.

I'm from CT, but recently moved out of state. I know there's a few more CT posters.
Say, did you notice the same strange phenomenon? I lived in that state virtually my whole life, but until 2001 I never realized there were so many Patriots fans .

I'm not a new member, but haven't posted in a number of years. I've been a Jets fan since the days of Joe Willie. I started out posting on the old NY Times Board and have followed it since the mid 90's. I joined this board sometime ago and posted on both for a while, then life got in the way. Since I had been with the guys on the other board longer I stayed there, but eventually grew tired of that board, so haven't posted anywhere in a while.

I've missed the discussions, particuarly the offseason discussions regarding the draft, FA and possible moves the franchise can make to improve itself. I'm looking forward to reading and posting again, although I still have somewhat limited time. I'm also looking forward to getting to know all here. I've lurked a little and see some names I remember from the past, but not many.

and the pain continues. This franchise has to catch a break. From Walt Michaels to Joe Walton to Bruce Coslett Pete Carroll to Richie Kotite to Herm to Mangini...much suffering.

Allow me to introduce myself. I've posted a few times here already and I'm a huge fan of the Jets and Yankees. This fall I'll be going to school behind enemy lines (Boston College). Hopefully there will be a season then.

I live in Virginia (where Mike Vick is from and played college ball), hence my username.

I'm a new member. I'm from Queens, born and raised, and currently live in Springfield, MA. (Yes i'm behind enemy lines) i've been a life long Jets fan. Never been to a game. Hopefully i will get to go to one soon. (Ticket prices are to rich for my blood right now)
I bleed hunter green and white. I played football. Played for a small D2 school in springfield, hence the reason why i currently live in springfield. Just saying hello hopefully make some friends and i predict the Jets will win the. Super Bowl next year.

I've been a big fan of the Jets since I was 10, the year Chad Pennington was first drafted to the Jets. I live down in New Orleans so growing up all my family ever did was watch all the horrible seasons the poor Saints was having. I must admit deep down I still love the Saints at heart and really appreciate the SB win they have received, because it has really brought together and rebuilt the nation here. But I am fully dedicated on being a Jets fan because I have always loved the team and I always wish I was born in New York or would like to move there someday. I have faith that our team will bring us to the superbowl next year and give all the teams a run for their money. Thank you for welcoming me to the gang green board, I hope to have alot of fun times on here and look forward to next season.

i've been posting on the MSG Network message boards for many year under the same name - Nixhead. I used that name because when I first started posting I was a hugh Knicks fans - they had Sprewell and L.J. - the big L.
I just kept the name over the years but I've been a hugh Jet fan since about 1974. I used to listen to Glickman on the radio. I went to boatloads of games at Shea - during halftime we used to bring a football and we all went and played football basically in the outfield at Shea. I was at the game the Jets lost to the Saints when they went 1-15. Great snow shower in 3rd quarter.
I was at the game where Richard Todd threw a TD to Jerome Barkum with 7 seconds left and the Jets beat the Dolphins - I was right in that endzone.
I loved the games at Shea - I will never forget those memories. Now I am a successful enteprenuer in Florida - I own a bunch of MetroPcs stores. Still I manage to go to a few Jet games each year - saw them beat Houston this season when half the stadium left. Of course I have DirecTV and never ever miss a game. I missed many a weddings and funerals to watch the Jets. I'm selfish I guess - I just ask myself - do i want to go to this wedding or watch the game and we all know what the answer is. Anyway see you guys out there on the boards.

i've been a fan since 94 of both the jets and 49ers when a 9 year old me first started really getting into football. i remember when i was younger then thet watching jet games with my uncles and they would have a bunch of people over and order pizza and everything for the games and i always enjoyed that. hell this year it was fun, i live in california now but i was in new york from week 17 all the way up til the end of january, it was like old times when i was little kid when everyone in the family all met up to watch the game against the patriots and tons of drunken foolishness occured that evening lol. all that being said it's alot more fun being a jets fan now then it was in recent years, i remember getting crap when the giants won the super bowl in 08, and when the raiders knocked them out in 2002 and 03 from all the raider fans in los angeles who still think the raiders play here smh.

aside from that i've been a 49er fan just as long because jerry rice and steve young were my favorite players growing up and i couldn't stand the cowboy and raider fans that live in my area so i stuck with the 49ers even though they've been a joke pretty much every season since 98.

other then that i've been a big laker fan since 93 and a mets fan for as long as i can remember.

Nice website y'all got here. Been a Jets fan since about 1996 or so. Never lived or even visited New York City yet, so it's kind of weird being a Jets fan way down here in VA amid all the Redskins and Steeler fans, but I wouldn't change anything. Looking forward to sharing some good thoughts with everyone here.

I was at that Miami game (Section 17 upperdeck)...beat the fins, no Bob Griese,.... 33-20

Todd, Walker(2 tds), Bruce Harper had big games. Defense had a couple of INTs.

Delvin Williams (Miami RB) had a Barry Sanders-esque run for about 55 yards for a score.

My first game was in Oct 77 vs Raiders...we lost 28-27, Leahy missed an extra point.

Wesley Walker caught an 80 yard bomb for a TD from Todd, instantly I became a huge WW fan.

Well, a QB can put you guys back on track, but you've really never had one in your entire history, so I feel bad for you guys.

We have an awesome QB, a funny as hell and cool coach who never runs out of awesome things to say, and every offseason is as exciting as the regular season because Mike Tannenbaum knows how to fleece teams of their players.

The Jets are pretty interesting. We hate faggot haired QBs and the color teal makes us piss on those who wear it.

If you'd like to jump ship, we'd love to have you.

I hear ya on that one. Wish we could snag a decent QB, but forgive me for being pessimistic, but I don't think it's going to happen. Leinert is a freaking joke. Almost sh*t a brick when there was talks about Fitzgerald. I can honestly say that would have been the nail in the coffin.

either way, I'm Joe (Blamath), big Jets fan and have always been a Namath fan. I'll make my way through these forums throughout the off-season to rant about bad moves, good draft picks, and any other news that comes up.

Hey,
New to the forum and just found this thread. Anyway, name's Nick, 30 years old, married with 2 kids, living near Baltimore. Been a Jets fan since I was 5 living in New Mexico. I liked green and jets so they just seemed like a perfect fit. Also, my older brother was a Patriots fan. I was hooked after watching a few games. My fandom has been unwavier through the bad years and I'm happy to see them back on top.

I've only been to one game, the dreadful game at Foxborough (living in MA at the time) from '09 where Welker tore us a new own and Sanchez threw 3 pick to Leigh Bodden. Not a good game to be wearing a Jets jersey in the 4th row.

Looking forward to the 2011 season and another appearance in the AFC title game!

Hey guys,

I've been a Jets fan for some 30 years, scary to say, since the 82 season; ever since Richard Todd picked out a wide-open AJ Duhe for a few touchdown passes.

It wasn't easy to follow the franchise for a while when I moved to Europe in the early 90's, but with the development of the internet etc I can not only watch the games but have access to a ridiculous amount of info about the team, much more than when I was growing up in New York. Santonio Holmes' twitter feed fulfills me.

Anyway, these last 3 years with Favre then Rex have been a lot of fun, and it's been great to see my misfit mismanaged unfortunate Jets get their act together and look like a solid contender with a future. I look forward to posting here occasionally when drunk.

Which side of B'more?

Cecil County to be exact, so I'm actually closer to Delaware than Baltimore, but the average Jets fan won't know Maryland outside of a few main cities so I made it easy.

Hi,

Jets fan from Ireland. Spent summer of 2008 in Brooklyn. Went over with no interest in those "American sports", came home in September comfortably seated on the Brett Favre bandwagon and bemoaning another Mets collapse.

Its easy be a Jets fan these days I suppose but I have really enjoyed the last few seasons and am planning my first trip over this season with some other NFL converts, lockout dependent!

I’ve posted a quick question regarding game tickets in the Game Experience forum.

It looks as if the NFL players and owners will have a new CBA in place shortly. It's been said the Free Agency period will be fast and furious. Presonally, I dont think The Jets need to spend much time going after FA's. They already have the players to win it all. All they need to do is sign key guys like Holmes and Edwards.

So if they already have the right players, what is it that they need to do to put them over the top, and take home a Lombardi trophy? It's simple. Rex needs to become one mean SOB.

Think about this. Besides winning The Super Bowl, what do HC's like Bellichick, Parcells, Cowher, Vince Lombardi, Mike Tomlin and Mike Ditka have in common? They all are or were snarling mean bastards. Even Rex's old man Buddy was a mean SOB. You can easily see on TV that Rex is a nice guy. Always got that Rex smile on his face. Lose that smile Rex! Let the players know you're not going to tolerate a DUI, or any other type of distraction. While with The Giants, Parcells cut Elvis "Toast" Paterson for being late to a team meeting. Do you remember Cowher standing on the sideline with that scowl on his face?? Ditka almost got into a fist fight with a heckler. The uproarious laughter in the team dining room during the training camp AFTER the Pack had won Super Bowl One fell silent when Vince Lombardi walked in the room. Rex, all ya need to do is read a little bit about those guys. You'd be amazed at the results it gets.

Greetings from sunny Wales. Wrexham in north east Wales, to be specific.

I've been following the Jets for 25 years on TV over here in the UK but I've promised myself I'll get over to a game soon.

I've got family in NY, hence the connection to the Jets. I suppose I could have followed that other team that wears blue but I'm not an idiot so I went green. I also saw the Mets play back in '82 on my only trip to the States so I figured there was a connection there too.

For those of you that don't know, TV coverage of the NFL is pretty good over here. The International Series games at Wembley attract great interest too. I guess the Jets will need to pay for their share of new stadium first before they start giving up home games to come to London. Who knows, maybe they will come as a visiting team one year.

Jets fan since birth. Grew up with the Sack Exchange, Ken Obrien, Al toon and Wesley Walker. Grew up in North East Jersey till I was 25, now living in Philly. And yes, I wanna come home! I love what Rex has been doing with the team, I like the Jets swagger and attitude. Much better than the early 90s days of betting in Wk 1 how high our draft pick will be by next season. For the record, I love Vinny Testaverde, and since DAY 1 HATE with all my passion and soul Chad Pennington. I knew he'd never lead us to a championship game, and anyone can be accurate throwing 5 yd passes his whole life. Plus, you sneeze near him and he's out for the season. Either way, I BLEED GREEN and always will, and look forward to spending this season and many more with the legion of GANG GREEN!! I need to learn the ropes of this message board, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
