2006-04-03 18:52 (New York)
By Erik Matuszewski
April 3 (Bloomberg) -- The Cincinnati Bengals signed Pro
Bowl defensive tackle Sam Adams, an unrestricted free agent who
spent the past three seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
The 6-foot-4, 335-pound Adams joins a Bengals' defensive
line that ranked 20th out of 32 National Football League teams
last season in rushing yards allowed. The team didn't disclose
financial terms of his three-year contract in a news release.
Adams, 32, has 379 tackles and 42 sacks over his 13-year NFL
career with the Bills, Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and
Seattle Seahawks.
In other NFL moves, the New England Patriots signed veteran
cornerback Eric Warfield a month after he was released by the
Kansas City Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent
linebacker Jamie Winborn from the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the
Miami Dolphins re-signed running back Sammy Morris.
