Details are lacking at this point but word is that Carl Pavano will not make his start tomorrow night because of an arm problem. Darrell Rasner will start in his place.

Obviously this hardly comes as surprising news given Pavano’s long history of injuries since he signed with the Yankees.

More on this once we speak to Joe Torre and the Rajah himself.

Especially with the starters NY ran into...Yes the Yankee lineup is great, but those are 3 very good pitchers...

I would like for Kei to step it up against a decent lineup in a pitchers park.

Well then, let him pitch with a bad arm anyway. What does it matter? Not like he will lose any more time then the year if he does. I doubt anyone would care much if he was totally ruined because of it. We might get 10 million back if he is.

Don
04-13-2007, 06:42 PM
Now it's on the sports sites.

The New York Yankees pushed back Carl Pavano's next start, scheduled for Saturday, for three days due to soreness in his forearm.

Darrell Rasner will work the second game of a three-game series against the Oakland A's instead, working on five days rest after his five-run outing in 4 1-3 innings against Baltimore on Sunday. Andy Pettitte will pitch, as scheduled, Sunday afternoon against Oakland.

The Yankees trainers are telling the front office that Pavano's soreness is likely a "soft-tissue issue," not a ligament issue.

I still say let him pitch with it anyway. Can you imagine Cy Young saying "my arm is a little sore". I want to take the next week off.

I didn't even bother to try to stay up. Good, since it didn't work out anyway.

Bad news of the day: Pavano is going to miss his start due to soreness in his forearm. Rasner has now been pushed up to today. Moose still has no idea when he'll pitch again. Wang and Karstens are still getting ready.

7 would be ideal. Farnsworth could use the day off. Bruney has to be unavailable. Proctor too. I'm sure Mo can go, but I'd really prefer if he didn't.

We need runs today. A whole bunch nice and early. Allow Pettitte to just throw, and hopefully we can get out of there with only one or two relievers seeing action (Myers/Vizcaino?)

Here we go with the "when it counts"? What BS.

The ONLY reason you love ARod is b/c he screws us in every big spot. Would you rather a player put up meaningless fantasy #s then fall apart when games and moments are big or a player who puts up good #s then comes through when games and moments are big?

We'll trade ARod for Wright straight up- you want to do that?(although sine Wright signed his big deal he has shown ARod-like qualities).
