I think 5 should be pretty good. As it is, that's 50 players. There are 50 All Stars. That seems about right. All the star players will stay put and lesser guys will move around. Too many keepers makes improving almost impossible for teams who have a bad draft the first year.

Everything is organized and the four new people will be assigned teams tomorrow so they can pick their keepers. I think we should have all the keepers in by Friday so people know who is still going to be there when they draft. So, unless people disagree, the players you will be keeping will be due by Friday and then we can do the draft next week. The draft can be done on Yahoo where we all just pick our first 7 people first or we can do an offline draft on AIM or something like that.

If we keep it on Yahoo, we are back to the problem once again when it comes to dealing with keepers, I don't have a problem with Yahoo but if we are going to do a keeper league, having something that actually has the option built in saves us a lot of problems for the years ahead as well as this year.

This is a quote from ESPN, I think it is possible to add the keepers manually and since we need a new member, it is the perfect time to make the switch

NOTE: If you are continuing a league from a different provider, you will need to select Keepers for use this season. You will then need to go into the Edit Team Rosters link and manually assign the Keepers to their appropriate teams BEFORE the draft.

There really isn't a ton of confusion. Almost everyone has joined the ESPN league (you are one of the ones who hasn't) and 9 of the 12 keepers are up on there. The draft will be sometime this next week and at most we may miss 2 games. I was thinking like a tuesday night draft. If you still want out let me know.

Yes, there will be more bench spots next season. That was a mistake this season that i made when I switched the league to espn. I'll probably make 5 or 6 bench spots and 1 or 2 DL spots depending on what people in the league want to do. GL to everyone still in the playoffs

Every year you can pick 7 keepers from your roster. On March 10 (or whenever the keeper deadline is) the rest of the players get entered back into the draft.

I would like to keep this going but we are missing 5 people and it doesn't make much sense to me to have a keeper league where the turnover is almost half the league. I'm going to give them a few more days to respond (i'm waiting on 2 people) and then decide what to do with the league.

It looks like this league is going to shut down. I would be glad to start up a new one with a new, dedicated group of people if there are still people interested but replacing half the league in a keeper league isn't ideal. I'll PM a mod and ask them to move this off the stickied threads.
