I could go back but I would have to go with 2000 season. There was so many things from that year . The new england come back ,the tampa bay come back (Road trip/Keyshawn 1 yd.) The Mirical!! I know that year we lost to the ravens in the last game to make it in to the play off's but thats my choice.
I cried after the midnight mirical was over ,I guesse thats the closest thing that iv ever felt to a super bowl win by the jets. (Plus I was with two dolphin fans -Priceless.......
2004
The memory of that FG will forever plague my mind.
And I see where your coming from about 2000. That season was crazy with all the comebacks, and the constant up and downs. First we're 6-1 and thinking about home field advantage throughout the playoffs, then we're 6-4 hoping that we still make the playoffs, then we're 9-4 thinking "1 win away!" Then we lose the final 3, what a crazy year.

2002 without question. I have never seen such a remarkable turnaround from being probably the worst team in the NFL(we lost 3 straight games by a combined 110-13) to one of the best teams in the NFL. Also, our franchise quarterback was discovered and had one of the best years ever for a Jet QB.

1998.
Last time I went to a jets game with my brother-
It was the pre-season game against the Ravens. Vinny got a tepid response from the crowd. Who knew?

End of 1996 to 1997.
Transformation and rebirth of the franchise.
I enjoyed those times indeed.
I believe were began the season on the road and crushed the Seahawks.

2002
The Jets-Packers game. After the Browns beat the Falcons, the jets had to win to get in, along with the Pats beating the Fins. Fins were up big, I had a little TV and was giving play-by-play to my whole section (336). When Vinetari hit the FG to win, we all went nuts. I remember the jets D being on the field looking in shock. Nothing had happened and the D was standing around surprised. Then they showed it on the big board and we went on to win 42-17.

It was only our last regular season game against the Rams. But both playoff games did.

1998....aside from 2002, the only time in my life I ever truly believed that we could win the SB. Damn Corwin Brown..

Best memory 1998:- First and only game I ever cried after. That season was so magical.... every game you had that feeling that something special will happen.
and...
1994- I know we were 6-10 that year, but it was my first whole season following the JETS.

1999. The Ray Lucas year. I think that was my favorite year all together. there were some in the 80s,but i love the way we started 1-6 and missed the playoffs by 1 game in 99.

Wow, I can't believe that I'm the first one who gets to post the obvious - 1968, culminating in Super Bowl III on January 12, 1969.

I wish I could say I was around for SBIII, but us younguns have to settle for 1998. I was a great season, though.

98 The year I first experienced a playoff game for the Jets. 02 The greatest turnaround ever, and 04 we went toe to toe withthe best.

Most memorable season was no doubt 1998, the only year I could say we should have won the SB.. Most memorable day was easily Jets-Packers in 02, that is just one of those days you'll remember forever.. Midnight Miracle is a close second..

2004. That was the only season I truly saw the Jets get into the playoffs. Doug Brien made me real upset real quick for a while.

I'd have to say the 1981-82 seasons, my first as a 10, 11 year old. The sack exchange, Freeman McNeil. Of course, 1998 will have a special place in my heart also.....

02' and 04'.
02' was great because after the Bears loss, I thought that was it for the Jets...But into the final week, i'm watching New England pull off that comeback against Miami, and just busted open with enjoyment, of course the Jets pull off the win against Green Bay, then blank out Manning. After a 2-5 start, who knew?
2004 was memorable with the 5-0 vs. 5-0 game where the Jets only lost 13-7 at New England, so it boosted my confidence in this team, crushing devastation against Baltimore, but it turned out alright. It was great seeing Vilma and Coleman come in together and produce great as rookies, and for Chad to beat San Diego with a torn labrum was amazing, his throw to Santana will never be forgotten.
Then of course, the 1st TRUE heartbreak I experienced as a Jets fan(1998 was tough, but being 11 years old I wasn't quite as passionate towards the Jets)...The Doug Brien miss will be a bad bad memory with me, I was so excited with the chance to win only for him to completely MISS. Tears came after Jeff Reed's made field goal and that was that...

1968, 1981, 1982, 1998, and 2002 were all magical in some way.
Best day at stadium- beating GB in 2002 finale to win division after NE's miracle comeback agains the fish.
Honorable Mention in chronological orger
- 1) beating GB to make playoffs in '81
2)Beating NE in OT in '85
3) Knocking the Giants out of the playoffs in '88
4) Beating NE in '98 finale - it was a celebration rather than a game
5) Beating Jacksonvill in '98 playoffs
6) Monday Night Miracle in 2000
7) Beating the Colts 41-0 in 2002 playoffs

No disrespect at all, I like you as a poster...But you, as a Veteran Jets fan, it even pains me that only 5 years were memorable for an elder Jets fan who's seen it all...
I've dealt with hell with the Doug Brien miss and i'm only 19!...Is this what I have to look forward to!?

1996 - This was the year that proved to me that the Jets meant so much in my life. Just being tormented every week, To be in the stands for every game and being able to Smoke Cigars at your seat and sneak in beers, what a difference 10 years makes.
1998 - Obvious choice, But some special games included the Testaverde phantom TD against a good Seattle team that Cost Erickson his job. A game late in the season, against the Pats when we had things basically wrapped up. I believe it was The day before New Years and everyone had Hats and Blowers. Playoff Game against Jax.

02, because I remember with a few weeks to go in the season working out that the Jets needed 7 games to go the right way to make the playoffs, and they got every single one of them, including Miami WINNING in Minnesota. It was astounding how it worked out.

There were others that were memorable, but these were the most memorable. 1985 and 1986 were good years, for example. So was 2004. However, you are right, the memorable years have been few and far between. Welcome to life as a Jet fan.

1998 without a doubt. 2 seasons removed from 1-15, the fire power of our offense, the tenacity of our defense, and 30 friggin' minutes away from the Super Bowl. We would have KILLED the Falcons.
