Love curling, all the intricasies of the sport make it somewhat fascinating to watch. You think to yourself it looks so simple, but all the sweeping and screaming make you really get into it. Plus, a lot the girls on the US womens team are really hot, makes you wonder why they got into curling in the first place.

I really didnt like curling at first but I finally decided to watch a match between US and Finland and it was very fascinating and I got caught up in the match, but it will never be as exciting as hockey!

I wouldn't say it's an exciting sport, but it's very very fascinating, and I do watch it on CNBC while I'm eating dinner.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't this game invented in Scotland or the Netherlands?
I think it was the Netherlands because they used to play it the frozen dikes. I think.....

Amazingly, I never heard of curling until the 2002 Games. Nobody I knew had known about it either. Therefore, I was under the impression it was a recently invented sport. I do find it nice to watch.
Does anybody know when the sport was invented?

Invented in Scotland. First match was played in February in 1541.

A boring sport like that wouldn't be a modern innovation. But it is really interesting to watch.

Curling has been an official sport in the Winter Olympics since the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. In February 2006 the IOC included the winning curling teams in the 1924 Winter Olympic Games, originally called Semaine des Sports d'Hiver ("International Winter Sports Week"), as medal winners in an official Olympic tournament. Previous opinion was that all sports then were demonstration events. Curling was on that occasion played outdoors.
