so I scanned the open market for a suitable FFB mag that was made just for me.so I am highligting notes and ranking players in my own order.so a co-worker asks to see my book.I will not let him b/c it has my notes and stuff and we are supposed to be in a league together.

so I take him to Barnes & Nobles on Court St during lunch to get his very own FFB mag.

so what does the douchebag do?he buys the exact same book!!!!!I said you can't do that, there are 14 fuckin mags here just a different one.he says no this one suits him just fine.

do I have a rightto be mad,and should I still get in his league?

I know it sounds bitchy but I am very crazy about this stuff.

I don't think you should be mad that he got the same mag.

For my money, Fantasy Football Index is the best one.

I bought the ESPN one last year. I thought it was pretty good.
I bought FFI last year and this year. I don't plan on buying any other ones this year.

which magazine was it?

Playboy hopefully, otherwise I can't think of any reason to be mad.

-----

I think I am skipping the FF magazines this year, I feel like I know enough to make my own ranking plus they are too expensive

-----

The ESPN one was pretty good last year, tons of stats and players

I usually get the Sporting News one. I like the layout of it and they cover pretty much every single player who may be on a roster.

I usually only use it when it gets to late in the draft and I want to compare a couple of players.
If I dont know by now that I shouldnt draft Alex Smith then I shouldnt be playing Fantasy Football.

I am a big fan of Fantasy Football Pro Forecast. I use that and To view links in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily.
and make my own adjustments off of that.

You can be mad 17a, but its the man who makes the team, not the mag he references.

I hear ya, and I am not saying you dont have a right to be pissed, but f him. If he uses your mag, you can adjust off the sheets, you know guys, you have a feel for players. I have guys in my money league who go straight down the cheatsheet, you know what they are going to do, you can gauge what they might be thinking, especially if they are drafting around you, which is great, they become predictable. If the guy knows what he is doing anyway, he is not going to follow the sheets exact anyway, so what difference what mag he has. Dont sweat it to much. Just make sure to pummel him with comments during the draft.

First of all, it is not your magazine. Thousands of other people out there buy and read it. Unless you wrote it, printed it and copyrighted it, you have no more right to it than anyone else.

I like showing up to a draft and seeing an owner with one of those thick ass books.
I immediately know that he will be going strictly by the chart and that he doesnt know shit.
Then I wait for him to draft someone that recently retired or was injured and laugh my ass off.

Yeah and then they spend the full time searching through their stats to find that guy who is going to put them over the top.

To this date, I have only played in Yahoo fantasy football leagues. All were online drafts.

If I ever go to a face-to-face draft, I would show up with only a few pieces of paper and a pen. I'd also bring some beer.

They could laugh at me when I make the next version of "The Larry Johnson Selection". "Whoa. Might want to cut down on the beer consumption, fella," they'll say.

The Larry Johnson Selection
2005
6th round, 66th overall
One hell of a pick.

When I made that pick last August in the Press Peeps league I was laughed at and ridiculed. I had already drafted two running backs with my first five picks and Johnson was Priest Holmes' backup at the time. People were asking why I made the pick. I said something like, "Holmes will get injured in the middle of the season and Johnson will be starting for my team during the stretch run."
Of course, I won the league and got my name in the Asbury Park Press, along with an article.

Why I prefer Fantasy Football Index:

Well, first off, I take all these mags' rankings with a grain of salt. I take them into consideration, but generally make my own rankings.

FFI is good because it has more information than any other fantasy football mag, in my opinion. There are lengthy write-ups of each team and you get all of the previous season's game-by-game stats for all the key players.

There are a bunch of stat charts in the back:
QBs: Team Passing Points Per Game
QBs: Points per Start (TD-Only League)
QBs: Per Start Rushing Statistics (where else do you see such a list?)
RBs: Total Yards Per Start
on and on

I also like all the ads. Along with ads throughout the mag, there is an Advertising Index on pages 240 and 241. There were so many fantasy sites that I was unaware of before I bought this magazine. For one, check out To view links in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily. If you want to create a keeper league, this is where you'd probably want to go.

This mag also contains all the typical stuff like cheat sheets and expert opinions and what not.

All other mags contain some of the above info, but I think FFI is the only one that contains all of this.

Yeah and then they spend the full time searching through their stats to find that guy who is going to put them over the top.

That's why I decide on 2/3 players before my pick so I don't waste too much time.

I bought the ESPN one this year....contains alot of extra information (mock draft, how to manage your league, shaun alexander vs. larry johnson, in depth player reviews, rookies, sleepers, busts, and 32 team preview, nice tear out cheat sheet)
