Too bad, It would have been fun to see him and Wright on that left side. Better off, want him back for the Cubs on friday.

It's always interesting seeing cluelessness raised to an art form (another fine example is in the Francisco Pena thread).

and to think some think its only Met fans that are responsible for these threads getting out of control

Cluelessness isn't the word that I would use, but it's probably one of the least likely to draw a ban.

Mets probably felt bad that they had more all-stars than the Yankees. So they had Reyes and Pedro drop out to even it up.

Yet they're only three games better in the brutal NL East.

Statements like that justify the Mets fans bitterness towards Yankee fan.

Lets discuss the Yankees being in second place and the All Star game not mattering to them in the long run.
davecrazy

What does that mean?
it means only a Yankee would be dumb enough to play a meaningless exhibition game with 7 stitches in his hand.

Can we just stop acknowledging 5180 with anything but pirate jokes? Is he really worth thinking of responses to? Most of the stuff he says is so perfectly stupid that it's not even worth pointing it out.

The views, opinions and rants of 5180 in no way reflect the views, opinions and rants of the majority of the other Yankees fans.
Please do not accept his word as the word of all Yankees fans.

Here is what I think should happen since Reyes plans to go the game anyways.
NL is the home team.
Let him get announced with the starters - he earned that.
Send him out to the field for the first inning and then let him at bat since he will be batting leadoff and then pull him and bring in the first replacement.
This way he gets what he deserves, the fans who voted for him get what they wanted, and as long as he doesnt do anything stupid, he should be fine for Fridays game. (His scheduled return)

I don't know, I'm all for being cautious but I can't see how a cut on his non throwing pinky finger is any cause for concern. I don't see why he can't make his appearance in the all star game and be ready to play for the 2nd half..

Because it's stitched together and they probably don't want him to rip it back open in the glove or while swinging a bat.

Why do we keep comparing these teams?
They are in different leagues.
They are in different divisions.
They have their own problems.
The Yankees have it alot tougher obviously, but both are good teams.

In no way does this pertain to the thread, but how does Fransisco Liriano not get in the all-star game???

In the end sanity prevailed as Liriano was named to replace Contreras.
BTW I also made a Turnbow all-star sig a few days ago. If you're interested it's in the "All-Star Sigs" thread in the avatars and signatures board.
