My annual League is set ! Get in!

* Please Read the Entire Post* :beer:

It's that time again!
the Gang Green 2k7 has been launched. (No Affiliation) :wink:

This league is not your ordinary setup. Why? Because:
- RB's aren't the Gods of the League. Don't you hate leagues that who ever gets the top 3 RB's basically win the Championship? Boring! Stats are set accordingly.

- Draft Day is the Day Before Kickoff! So You'll know who to draft and who is on the IR.

- 8 Playoff Spots = 3 weeks of Playoffs!

-Draft a D Player. Get that Double Threat!

- You can adjust your Lineup in various formations. Want a 5 Wide set? Draft Shockey and Gonzalez for a killer 2 TE formation. How about a standard 2 WR 2 RB 1 TE? Then Do it!

- The League is up to 20 teams!! This means points are thin so you have to know your shit! Make trades, draft, Start, sit, watch, eat, breath NFL Football so you can have the sleeper players that Make you The Champ!

It's up to you. You draft your team, set your formations and play your game!


*NOTES:
While it is still 1st come...This year I will have to use my discretion and hand pick from those who want in. (Sorry if it seems unfair). Last year we had a full house and a few that joined the league because they seemed interested.
It was based on 1st come 1st serve. After week 2 no Contact, E-Mail and the team was left for dead. I had to Lock the 2 teams.

Just like the previous Years, all Sign ups will have their E-Mail, both personal and Yahoo Verified!
That means your Yahoo E-mail Will be Public to fellow managers within the League and I will have your Personal E-mail on hand.
All this is done to keep the League entertaining. No one Likes making trade offers that don't get answered!

In the Draft it Gets CRAZY. You start looking for sleepers by round 3 already. Pretty awsome if your into football.

I try and Make it as realistic is possible.
I hate leagues that are fake where the RB gets all the pts, or you have to play the same formation set every week.

In real football if you go up against a bad Secondary, you whip out the 4 wide sets. So why not in fantasy?

Also, INT's are Drive Killers insome leagues it's -1 for an int. Are you crazy? -3 for that fucker.
Oh and if your kicker sucks, you pay. The games almost always came down to the MNF game because they are close.

Even though people should definitely stay on top of their teams, I don't think you should be penalized because a team benched all their starters in week 17 to rest for the playoffs. Maybe bump it up to a week 16 championship?

This has always been a topic in all leagues and While I agree with you you also have to think of it that just 1 or 2 players from a team or two may be affected.

Also, This forces you to make moves and look for the sleepers.
That said , so far in the few years we went to 20 it hasn't become an issue.

No, Definitely not luck and you can ask the guys who played the past few years, Smart drafting and FA moves are key!
Also, If you get assed out in the draft, you have to make moves.

Did NYJATW really draft only one RB?
If so- WOW. (Well, maybe the league is not RB-friendly. That could change things.)

I had one draft this year and took 7 RBs and I will go far in that league.

Most of the scoring is pretty standard, I can't imagine things changing so much that RB's wouldn't be the most valuable commodity. There's really no excuse either since jets526 got Cadillac and McGahee with a late first round draft slot.

Maybe awful to you but those who are returning to the league this year already know that the league is predicated on a more "Even" scoring.

Not like the boring leagues where whoever gets Ladainian, Larry Johnson or another stud RB Wins the league. The scoring system in Many leagues is too RB Heavy.

So what's "Horrible" to you is actually much more "Logical" and fun here.
IOW, you gotta know a little more about players in the NFL. Because it may come down to a KR on your squad.

Maybe awful to you but those who are returning to the league this year already know that the league is predicated on a more "Even" scoring.

Not like the boring leagues where whoever gets Ladainian, Larry Johnson or another stud RB Wins the league. The scoring system in Many leagues is too RB Heavy.

So what's "Horrible" to you is actually much more "Logical" and fun here.
IOW, you gotta know a little more about players in the NFL. Because it may come down to a KR on your squad.


Fair enough, it just suprised me since I've never seen a league with scoring like this and I made my initial comments without looking at the scoring. I do think you went a bit over the top and made it very WR/QB heavy. I guess it may work better in a huge league like this though, when you have 18 teams drafting the early first round guys would probably have an advantage. Although for every "top pick" I've seen make a team I've seen just as many smart midseason FA pickups turn the tide of a season.

I really like my team in this league. Although the scoring is different I think grabbing two top RBs with my top two picks was a good idea. RB's are much more consistent than any other players on the field. Warner at QB has Boldin and Fitzgerald to throw too. And my WRs are Matt Jones and Reggie Brown who are both going to be solid performers on their teams. And LJ Smith at TE is sick because he is Mcnabbs best target. Some of my late round picks suck because I left but that will change with FAs.

I contemplated going with the jumbo formation until I realized that you couldnt start 3 TEs. Oh well, would have been funny but the TEs flew off the board. Oddly enough there were a ton of RBs left later than I anticipated them to be (unlike every other position :sad:)

It's just as important here simply because it's the reaction to injuries, the Mid-season Pick up, that trade, everything else that is just as important to your team because it's spread thin.
The draft is just part of the equation. You have to watch and know the NFL. If you don't adjust, you lose. ....Also, This forces you to make moves and look for the sleepers.
That said , so far in the few years we went to 20 it hasn't become an issue.

This was due to last years request of limiting the amount of QB's to follow the rule I had for limiting the amount of DEF teams to 2.

So, IOW. Each team will only be allowed to carry 2 Starting QB's and 2 Starting Defenses.

You can draft as many as you want but your roster has to be ready and they must be traded or Dropped by game 1.

Yeah I don't like how Yahoo! has a mind of its own and attempts to launch the draft randomly anywhere from a half hour to an hour prior to draft time. It should give you every possible second to fill that last spot.

Not really, Yahoo gives me the option to allow week 1 stats so that the draft can continue as planned....
I'm hoping that if we do miss anything it'll only be tomorrows game....because if we do miss week 1 ...ughhh...let's see.
