The question I have for you is...who should I target?
Carnell Williams? Ronnie Brown? Peyton Manning?

A lot depends on what goes in front of you..I'd take a serious look at Steve Smith

I would do that, but you don't get any points for receptions in our league.
I am almost certainly going to take a RB. This year is really tough for me because at that spot alot of good RB's will be available, just none of the elite guys.

in that case take a look at like Tiki Barber, Ronnie Brown as you mentioned.. a QB that could be valueable at that spot is Eli Manning

Eli at 7? Way too high.

Yeah that would be a huge a reach. Peyton Manning at 7, but not Eli.
Here is a list of players I will be targeting at 7:
- Carnell Williams (Gruden loves to give him the ball)
- Steven Jackson (Will be relied on alot more now that Martz is gone)
- Ronnie Brown (He never was given a full load and came close to 1000 yards)
- Tiki Barber (Age and his big season last year concern me)
Here are the guys I expect to be gone:
- Larry Johnson (Could be an absolute animal this year)
- Ladainian Tomlinson (Always a reliable draft pick)
- Shaun Alexandar (Losing Hutchinson hurts, but not that much)
- Edgerrin James (Great back in a Great offense...could be huge)
- Clinton Portis (Had a really good year last year, but might slip a bit due to his tough division)
- Peyton Manning (He is money for at least 30 TD's and 3500 yards)

That is probably going to be the top 6 in most drafts, out of the four you have above I'd go with Cadillac. Then you could still land a top WR in round 2(Holt, Smith, Harrison, Johnson, etc.)

Yeah thats a solid strategy. I really like Torry Holt. Hopefully he would be available.

Manning
Williams
Brown
In that order...

Don't sleep on Eli. Last year he was one of the top fantasy QBs and will get better as they didn't lose anyone on offense and actually gained Sinorice Moss.

I will consider him in the 3rd round. If he goes in Round one or two it is a reach.
There are better QB's then him and tons of talent at WR/RB...
In round three he is solid.

This year he will only be playing 50% of his games at home.

I'd go with Williams over Brown for the 7th pick and that's partly because I have a strict no Dolphins rule.

Hey I'm just saying...
Maybe its not appropriate in this league but I snagged him in like the 8th or 9th round in the keeper league last year and suffice to say I will be keeping him even though I have Carson Palmer as well. Worst case, I pawn Eli off in another year for a stud RB/WR and a prospect.

obviously manning is an elite qb and still amazing but...i myself am trying to refrain from him since we havent seen him w/o the edge before.
im going to give a one season buffer to see how he does without james
dont get me wrong, hes still a first rounder though

I would take Peyton Manning if he was there with that pick.

Hell...knowing Peyton Manning his numbers will get better.

Reggie Bush!!!

Reggie Bush!!!
That would be stupid because...
1- Deuce and Reggie will be splitting carries and Deuce will probably get goal line carries.
2- Reggie is a Rookie. I think he will do well, but not good enough to warrant 7th overall.
3- It is a HUGE reach.
There are safer picks and better players at 7.

1) Lets be honest, Reggie bush is getting most of the carries. He's also going to see time at receiver. You may have a point with Deuce getting the goalline carries but Bush breaks a lot of big runs.
2) I just disagree, I believe he's going to put up big numbers based on time at RB and WR. They're changing the playbook for this guy (as they should). He's going to be the person this offense revolves around. Carnell Williams put up big numbers his rookie season - he was very good in college but not as good as Bush.
3) Again, I disagree - see 1 & 2.
4) If it's a keeper league, then he's even more valuable.
5) You didn't have to call my idea stupid. It really hurt my feelings you know.

If your league counts return yards it would actually be a decent pick, although there would be a few RBs that would be better value then him.

Let me also reiterate that I don't think Reggie Bush is going to have bad season...I just don't think he warrants the 7th overall pick.
