I had Esche and my opponent had Jagr lsat night. But I'm still winning 8-1!
My goaltending is bad (Esche, Lehtonen, Thomas, and I had Theodore) but my skaters include Forsberg, Gomez, P. Bergeron, Heatley, Kovalev, Zetteberg, Holmstrom, Nash, Zubov, Kaberle, Souray, Lidstrom, and Pitkanen. Right now, I'm 4th out of 12.

Let's Go Rangers!!!

Are you guys even in TGG league?
wa2k99 definately isn't. I have Roloson on my roster as my third goalie. I love him when he plays, but it just hasn't been enough. I like him going to Edm. should help me.

If you guys aren't in TGG, can you please make that clear when you post

My team is finally playing well. Big move this week. What is the playoff scenario for the league? Who makes it, when do they start? I am sure by asking this i am jinxing myself into a slide..

John Grahame stinks.

It's not that he's a bad goalie, he just stinks.

This is the last week before the playoffs I think.

ScotsJet
03-13-2006, 02:04 PM
Hmm, lost 6-5 to Master Gracey last week, ending a long winning run. Look fairly secure for the playoffs though, need to pick up 5 points against the second-bottom side to get in.

ScotsJet

Oh, and just to triple-post, long-time early leader RI-CO was eliminated this week :)

Oh, and just to triple-post, long-time early leader RI-CO was eliminated this week :)
I'll be back next year!

It was quite frustrating actually. In the middle of the season, I couldn't get decent goaltending for anything. Now that my goalies have been hot, no one on my team can score points for the life of them. Oh well.

ScotsJet
03-15-2006, 08:47 AM
10-1 up with 4 days to go. Fingers crossed, it looks like I'll sneak in.

ButtleMan
03-15-2006, 09:29 AM
I went into this weeks matchup with Master Gracey believing that it was a fight for 3rd place. When I checked the scores and standings this morning I realized that Master Gracey had fallen to 5th place and that I am tied with Gretzky for 3rd.

ScotsJet
03-15-2006, 12:09 PM
That's due to gretzky going 10-0-2 last week i think.

nyscene911

It figures. The week that I'm officially eliminate is the week that Yashin decides to wake up, and the Rick continues to play great :P

MawaesDaMan
03-15-2006, 12:28 PM
Yeah, I have had two decent weeks since returning from the break. I was to used to fantasy football, and I wasnt adjusting my starterts often enough to completely capture guys play. Very competetive in the middle of the pack though. Good stuff.

ScotsJet
03-16-2006, 06:24 AM
I'm now sitting comfortably up 12-0, with decent leads in most categories. Nervous few days though, a lot can change on the weekend of any week.

ButtleMan
03-16-2006, 09:24 AM
It looks like you are going to lock up the last playoff spot.

ScotsJet
03-20-2006, 06:13 AM
OK, so my team held on to its 12-0 lead to leap from 6th to 3rd in the final regular season standings. Timbuktoo could have won 12-0 also and still not made the playoffs as all the teams above them that were catchable won sufficient points to secure their own slots.

The playoffs:

Pesky Predators v Master Gracey
The Mighty Ones v GretzkysDaMan

Then:

Pesky Predators/Master Gracey v Mister Moss
The Mighty Ones/GretzkysDaMan v It's Enrico Pallazzo

Looks like my matchup will be a battle of Goaltending vs offense. I had a great Monday on Offense and Gretzky's Goalies came up big yesterday plus his one shorthanded point.
What will win out O or D?

MawaesDaMan
03-23-2006, 09:38 AM
We have a pretty good match up Buttleman. I guess that is how playoff hockey should be. I used to have an Offense too. The Devils recent drought hurts me a lot. Drafted with a little to much emotion. Good Luck.

ButtleMan

All tied up Mawae 6-6.
You own GAA, and Save %. You have the advantage of 1 SO and 1 SHP.

I own PM, Points & Assists with the advantage in PP and GWG.

It will interesting to see how this plays out this weekend.

ScotsJet
03-25-2006, 06:11 PM
I'm up 8-1 on Master Gracey with just the weekend games to go, but it's a lot closer than it looks. There are a few tied categories and a number of others that could easily swing either way.

FirstTimeCaller

This is exciting... I can't wait to get back into the games next week.

ScotsJet
03-26-2006, 07:20 AM
my lead has narrowed to 6-3, with only 3 players skating for me tonight as opposed to 9 for MG. Neither of us have any goalies going, so those points are finished - I get points for W, GAA and SV%, neither of us registered a shutout.

ScotsJet
03-27-2006, 06:30 AM
As I suspected, I lost:

Pesky Predators 5
Master Gracey 6

The Mighty Ones 5
GretzkysDaMan 7

ScotsJet
03-27-2006, 07:39 AM
The entire difference came down to one play - Mike York's shorthanded GWG for the Islanders in a 5-1 win over Atlanta. It swung SHP from a tie to a win for MG and ditto with GWG. If they stay as ties I win 5-4

Well done guys, hope you go on to win it all.

Bah! We have a guy with 100 points, and two guys with 70+ points, ALL hanging donuts for the f**king week. All three have been in fairly healthy slumps. Plus, I won't mention how we had to dump John Grahame because it seems he likes the warmth of the red light on the back of his neck.

What once showed signed of promise is now getting bleak.

Very exciting stuff. I cant believe your PIM. I thought I had some bruisers. and the goalie from the Sharks is insane. Lehtonen hurt/bad game, hurts me a lot, although you not having Lundquist is no picnic for you either. Good stuff so far.

MisterMoss
04-14-2006, 12:52 PM

Well, everyone in my lineup was active for tomorrow anyway. There were 3 players playing tomorrow which I had no use for. It's not like i was dropping players just to gain an active player. I had a full roster for tomorrow even before that.

But I'm skrewed regardless. Kiprusoff had an insane 2 weeks, kept up with my goalies. Imagine, we both posted sub-2.00 GAAs

MawaesDaMan
04-18-2006, 09:58 AM
I was a little surprised add/drops could be done in the playoffs, but no big deal. My team is playing well, gotta love the scrappers, Crosby, Gionta, Rafalski, Blake, and good ole Chris Neil, my PIM specialist. One more night and what a biggie. Great night for hockey. Lets go Devils.

I atke it back... I didn't realize that. In one of my other leagues a guy dropped everybody that was inactive and probably won because he did it. I think it's unethical to do that.

Yeah, that would be unethical to a point. I think doing it here and there isn't an issue, as long as you don't go to an extreme.

Looks like I'm going to lose this one. I'll wait till the final score is posted
