I'm sorry if this is a re post but remember im still a bench warmer. I was just curious if you guys remember you first jet game attended. I think it would be pretty cool to hear from some of the old timers who went to games at shea stadium. Im 29 and went to my first game on Oct 1, 1995 vs Oakland it was a sunday night game on TNT and they got crushed 47-10 i sat in section 301 2nd to last row and loved it. The next day i put my name on the jets waiting list and finally got the ticks last yr. My second game was the same yr last game of the season vs the saints we lost 12-0 dont ask me why i went i guess i had a good deal on the ticks.

it was a dolphin game here in miami. I mustve been like 8 or 10. I stopped going after i was what mustve been 15 or 16. it was the last year they had glass beer bottles. I was getting up out of my seat with my pops cause the jets just knocked the phins out of the playoffs or something and people were throwing bottles at us. Not cool.

My first preseason game was a few years ago, Giants vs Jets. My second preseason game is tomorrow, and I'm freaking psyched. My first official Jets regular season game is the season finale vs Herm on December 30.

My first preseason game was a few years ago, Giants vs Jets. My second preseason game is tomorrow, and I'm freaking psyched. My first official Jets regular season game is the season finale vs Herm on December 30.

I went to the Jets-Giants preseason games in 1986, 1987, and 1994. The Jets went 2-1 in those games. Jack Trudeau hooked up with Stevie Anderson on like a 90-yard TD to win the 1994 game.

The Jets are 2-5 in preseason with me in attendance. I did see Ookie Vick play in his first ever NFL game in the 2001 preseason.

The Jets are 2-2 in regular season games I attended. They beat the Bengals in 1993 and 2001. I've seen them lose to the Lions in 2000 and the Patriots in 2005 (final ABC Monday Night game).

I will also be attending the 12/30 game. We'll have to meet somewhere before the game.

My First Jet Game was the Jets Miami game at Shea in 1981 , We won 16-15 on a Todd to Barkum TD in the final Seconds.

I went with my Older brother we Took the Train From LI , I was 13 - we were sitting in the Mezzanine Level Behind the End Zone where the Winning TD was.

Jets-Colts, AFC Wildcard Game.

Jets: 41
Colts: 0

This game is when I really became a Pennington fan. That was an incredible game, the whole stadium was going NUTS

My first game was the Jets against the World champion Washington redskins in preseason in 1991. That was the year Nagle was gun slinging all over the place and the Jets looked like world beaters. Too bad Browning caught a year long brain freeze and we won only 4 games that year.

I've only been to 2 games ever, don't get ticket opportunities much.

First game was against the browns in 02. Classic jets fashion, 21-3 lead at the half, jets lost 24-21 with a blocked john hall FG to end it. The other was the jags game in 05, another close disaster losing in OT, with both chad and jay out for the yr.

The first game I attended was 3 seasons ago on opening day vs the Bengals. We won that game and I believe Curtis rushed for close to 200 yards and a couple touchdowns.
I am from Ottawa Canada and have been a huge Jets fan for over 25 years so this was an awesome experience, especially the tailgate party. We now make the trip for every opening day although they have lost the last couple it is one of the highlights of my year.

My first Jets home game was Oct 2004, against the Niners. I think it was the first time in Jets history we went 5 in a row at the beginning of the season. Had great seats and sprinkled some of my husbands' ashes on the field.

That game was 1990, Bruce Coslet's first year. Darrell Davis had the sack of Moon in the end zone. Al Toon caught a long TD from O'Brien on a 4th and 1, brilliant fake handoff and Toon was off to the races.

My first game was 1976 at Shea vs the Bucs, who were an expansion team in the midst of their 0-26 franchise start. I think it was Joe Namath's last win as a Jet, certainly one of his last. He was splitting time with Richard Todd, a rookie. Lou Piccone had a punt return for a TD for the Jets. We were 3-11 that year, the only year of Lou Holtz as Jets coach--he made Rich Kotite look like Bill Parcells.

I remember that game, the Pats had beaten us 56-3 in Week 2. Playing on the long grass at Shea slowed down the Pats attack quite a bit. The Jets won their last three that year to get back to 8-8.

Game 5 in '76 at Shea, first win of the season and the Lou Holtz era, vs. the Bills, Namath off the bench to throw a TD and lead the team, then hobble off the field to heroes applause.

Once the needle goes in, it never comes out.

Allegedly, I went to one game at Shea. 1983 against Seattle for my 4th birthday. I don't remember a thing about it. The first game I can remember somewhat clearly was the 86 playoff game against the Chiefs. Someone returned a pick for a TD, but I don't remember who.

Yes, none are available just to buy at the box office, but there are a few ways. Stubhub is probably the easiest if you don't live in the country.

It was a monsoon much of the first half then in OT the sun actually came out. Crazy day, we were in 1st place after that game- the first time that late in a season since 1986. It was a great feeling leaving that bulding, 10 years sure goes by fast.

I'm originally from NYC, been a jets fan for as long as i can remember, lived in Miami since '89 hating the dolphins every step of the way. That game on 12/2 was my first nfl game that i've attended. All i can say is that it was awesome, energy was incredible, and a boatload of x-new yorkers, wearing green and white. I witnessed 2 different fights between Jets and Dophins fans, I hear that it's a regular thing when the jets come down. That's how much bad blood there is between the 2 teams, and there fans. Believe me, I've indured alot since '89 from these sorry dolfans.
The funniest thing about the game was the confused look on all the dolphins fans faces when the jets came out with there throwbacks. Some actually began to doubt that there were actually at a Jets/Dolphins game.
I'm a big fan of the J-e-t-s, and after that day I love my team more than ever. And I promise i will attend every game the the jets come down for every year from here on out. Tail-gating and all.

The first one I attended I believe was a win over Seattle in like '87 or 88, but my dad more or less made us leave in the third quarter cause he's always been a sticker for traffic.

After that I've been to a handful of preseason games and a couple of regular season games (including a terrible loss to the Patriots in '01 that set their dynasty going). The only time I've been to a game by myself we beat the Niners to get off to a 5-0 start that one year under Herm. The last game I was at was the playoff clincher against the Raiders last year :) Probably will be the last one I go to for some time with all the issues around the Meadowlands.

Was it a Monday Night game?(the Seattle game) If so it was '87, if not the game was 1985.

The Jets-Seattle series is a strange one. We lost 7 straight to start the series against them from '77 to '83. In '81 we ended the season 10-2-1 and our only 2 losses were to Seattle twice. But it turned in '85 and we have won 8 of 9 since.

3. the Jets getting spanked.

Well, I wasn't there so I can't attest to #2 but that game was in December and according to the video tape the winds gusted close to 50 mph, not a nice day to be in the upper deck at Shea and yes, the Jets - a little flat after losing in OT to the Browns the week before to cost them a chance at a wild card spot - were spanked by the Super Bowl bound Cowboys 30-7.

i believe it was the 1979 pre season game against the giants. i was a cowboy fan at the time. my dad took a friend and i.

after the game we tried to get season tickets to the giants, given the fact that i was a cowboys fan. they basically laughed when my dad called and asked for tickets. he then called the jets, and they basically said, "where do you want to sit"? my dad only knew 50yd line, so thats what he said. they said fine, but you have to take 4 seats. at that time they were at shea, and they had boxed off areas with 4 seats. 2 in front, 2 in back.the rest is history.

funny thing is, we were obviously on the giants waiting list, and 2 years ago they called and asked if we still wanted tickets. i coulda killed my dad when he told me he said no!

First Jets game I went to was back in 2003 or maybe 2004. My Uncle became a season ticket holder that year and always gives my dad and I a game to go to each year.

I honestly don't remember which was the first game, maybe you can remind me.

One game was Jets vs. Steelers, in a vicious snowstorm. Curtis Martin had a crazy game, and ran for like 200 yards. It was a very boring game, though, and I think the Jets won 6-0 or something like that.

The other game was Jets vs. Bengals, and I don't remember much about the game except that the Jets made a nice comeback, and completed like 3 2-point conversions all on the same play, play-action Tight-end fade.

Could you hear the really loud chants of "BULL-SHIT" we had going on on ESPN?

It was the correct call, a player needs to maintain possession even after he hits the ground on out of bounds and EZ plays. if the ball shuffles at all(even if it never hits the ground) it is not considered a catch. Unfortunately it was the proper call.

If you can remember back to 2002 also on a Sunday Night this time against Miami we had a similar call go in our favor as what looked like a Chris Chambers TD was correctly overturned b/c the ball moved as he hit the ground.

My first game was in 1997 which was an home opening day lost to the Bills and then I was able to go to home opening day of the 1998 season against the Ravens which was a lost as well.

But I was hooked since those two games and I am really pumped to go to my first Jets game in 10 years on Saturday. :jets:

I was at that one, people were chanting for Reggie Bush. The irony is, in losing the game we walked out thinking we had improved our chances, and the Saints ended up with him anyway. Further evidence that there is never a reason to root for your team to lose.

JIMsection323 - My first jets game I ever attended was same one as yours! The Oakland game in '95. If I remember correctly, O'Donnell went down in pregame warmups with a sprained ankle. After taking a snap from center and dropping back in the pocket, he just tripped over his own two feet. I think he tried to play in the game that day, but he didn't last very long. Honestly i cant remember who our Qb was that night. I just remember the score and the beating we took on the field and in the stands. There were sooo many Raider fans that night. Another thing i remember while taking the escaltor to the upper level Butch Huskey a former Met was standing in front of me with another Met i just can damn remember right now. If my memory serves me right they played their season final earlier that day. I would have to check the dates to be sure but im pretty sure.

You have a few games mixed up, he did get hurt against oakland but that was in 1996(in '95 he was still w/ Pitt) and he huirt his calf in warmups prior to the Oiler game in 1996.

The raider blowout at night was in 1995 and Boomer was still our QB. It was the last day of the MLB erg season as 2 nights later the yanks played their first playoff game in 14 years against Seattle at Yankee Stadium.

1980 or 81 at Shea Stadium vs The Bills. Can`t remember the year to be honest. I do remember being high on pot and I was actually surprised that I was able to buy beer without being carded(I was a teen). :) It was a bit of a hike from NJ to Shea at that age. Bus to Manhattan, then the #7 train all the way out to Shea. About a 45 minute train ride from Port Authority Bus Terminal. We had our pot and we had our beers for the train so it went quick. It was awesome taking the train out at around 9:00am. Just the sight of all the laundry hanging out in the yards of Queens, NY was a sight to see. I had gone to several games at Shea and I always recall the clothes lines. Guess Sunday mornings was laundry day in Queens.

I have only attended 2. I am from Illinois so that gives me some sort of excuse. My first Jets game almost wasn't. A couple buddies and I went to a pre-season Jets at Bears game. The 3 of us cashed out a 30 pack before we hit Joliet, about 2 hours, then stopped at a bar and contemplated going to the 2nd game of a White Sox double header. what can I say, the beers were flowing. We made it to the game in the 3rd Q, Ray Lucas was in and the Jets were mopping the floor. At least we had time to grab a couple beers. the regular season game was bad. It was Jets/Bears in Champaign. You know, the one that Chrebet tried to be the acrobatic hero? Needless to say the experience was not great, but definitely memorable. A lot of beer and obscenities thrown at me after the game. It was a bus trip so all I could do was take it. I wonder what would have happened if the Jets won?

November '74 at the Yale bowl - still remember Namath "rushing" for a TD and we beat the Giants in OT. My Dad then bought great seats at Shea for the 75 season - been inthe family ever since. We had great seats at Shea - 7th row behind the Jets bench. They were field level so had to stand most of the games to see over the players. Great memories as a kid but it was always freezing with the wind blowing in from the open end of the stadium and having to stand in ankle deep water as the bathrooms were always flooded! The banners were great though - all over the place -not like now where we can't bring signs into the stadium.

My first Jets game was the 1968 AFL Championship Game, before SuperBowl III. My brother waited on line for tickets that Monday, and we bought 3 individual seats scattered around the stadium (all that was left). I sat next to a businessman-type, with a satchel filled with booze. He knew very little about football, but was convinced that the Jets would kill the Colts, but not the Browns, if we met them in the Super Bowl. Back then, the NFL was so arrogant that they played their championship game at the same time as the AFL, figuring that would kill AFL ratings. But we had the "Heidi Game" rematch, so our game was more popular. With each Colts' score on the board as our game was being played, some around us mumbled, "Maybe we should lose. The Colts will kill us in the Super Bowl." But this inebriated business guy kept screaming, "Yes! We will kill the Colts. I am glad they are winning!" You all know about the game, a 27-23 Jets win. I had the perfect view of the lateral pass with 2 minutes to go when the Raiders were first and 10 inside our 20. I was screaming "Lateral!" Truth be known, that was the dumbest play call I ever saw. They were marching relentlessly up field and looked like an east td coming. Then they call that dumb play. Also, the Raiders covered Don Maynard one-on-one all day, even though he burned them for 228 yards in the Heidi Game earlier in the year. Later in life, I had the good fortune to befriend Gene Upshaw, who was a second year guard for Oakland in that game. I once told him that but for a dumb play selection and ridiculous bad coaching strategy, his team would have been the first AFL team to win a Super Bowl. He said, "I should have 5 rings. Between that and bad referee calls with no replay back then, we were robbed that many times." Al Davis couldn't have said it better. Thank you Weeb, Joe, Don, and the boys. What a great first game to attend!

Being from Montreal, I attended my first Jets game 2 weeks ago against the Pats. What a game !! To be true, I've never been a Jets fan (neither Titans) since beginning following NFL + AFL football from the early 60's. Was rather a Cowboy fan in the 60's, then a Steeler's fan in the 70's, was even rooting for the Colts vs Namath's Jets. But on September 20th, the Jets fans's frenzy in the parking lots and tailgates around the stadium, completely transformed and changed my alliance. First thing I did upon entering the stadium, bought a Sanchez jersey, and really enjoyed the game, was a great experience with all of you Jets fans. From now on, I will root strickly for the Jets. Saw the game yesterday against the Titans on TV, with my Jets jersey on. Go Go Jets and thanks to all of you super-great Fans!!

I don't remember the first game I went to, or probably the first 16+ games I went to. My dad has had season tickets since the 70s so I have been going to every game I can make it to for my entire life. I used to make it to a lot more when I was a kid, but when H.S. started, football and wrestling always interfered on Sundays and I could barely even catch a game on TV. Now that real life has started and I live in Virginia, I'm lucky to make it to 3 games + 1 preseason game each year. Someone in my family always goes to the game and uses all 6 tickets we have.

A funny story about that Bills-Jets game......towards the end of that game I remember Kerry Glenn, a rookie DB intercepting an over the hill Vince Ferragamo and running it back for a TD. Years later in 1993 I was at a sports bar in Plantation, Florida the day Marvin Jones was drafted. I think the restaurant was owned by Mark Higgs, a Dolphins RB at the time and he was having a celebratory event for Jones who was there dining with his family. Anyway I met Jones (who was a bit arrogant I must say) and he signed my pennant. Kerry Glenn was also there, who at this time was a reserve DB for the Dolphins. I struck up a conversation with him and told him about how I remembered his first ever TD and who threw the INT and the score of the game and he stared at me in amazement and broke into a huge smile and kept saying, "Yeah, that's right!". He threw his arm around me and proceeded to walk me around intoducuing me to other players who were there and some of his family members announcing that I remembered his first ever game. It was pretty funny. He was a nice guy - it was like he was amazed there was somebody out there who remembered him........needless to say he also signed my pennant. Jets vs Dolphins MNF on Christmas in 05 I believe. Rained all game long and it was a puntfest with the exception of a few field goals and a Coles (?) TD. Most boring game ever but the Jets won so it was a good night.

Saw the Jets lose to the Raiders in the preseason of 1976 at Yankee Stadium. Namath was still on the roster, and rookie QB/Punter Richard Todd shanked a punt that netted 3 yards never to attempt a punt again. I made my father take for my birthday that August. It was exciting to see "new" Yankee Stadium which had recently reopened after refurbishment. They had a horrible scoreboard that showed animated graphics but for '76 it was state of the art.

Yes, the Jets used to play preseason games at Yankee Stadium. Back then it was 6 preseason, 14 regular season. Can you imagine?

I wish I took some, though at my age at the time, and the camera available to me, they wouldn't show much ; ) I can tell you that the football field ran from home plate to left-left center field.

Whoa! I think this is the first post I recall from someone who attended a Polo Grounds game. Wow. Congrats on supporting them this long. What did you end up with at the new Meadowlands Stadium? Still going? You probably could have had Upper Prime first row. If you weren't offered those, it's a crime.

I guess you were one of about six people happy about the retro Titans uniforms they've sported these past three years. ; )

My fondest Jets memories were the sack exchange years at Shea. I loved that team.

Just another way they put the screws to the old timers who have seen the very best of times SB3 & the PO win over the Raiders & the very worst of times the Kotex era & all that occurred in between those hi & low

I went to two Giants home games- both against the Jets. Our fuckers lost both of them... On a happier note, the Jets win against the Giants (Jets home game) in '88 was one of the prime Meadowlands moments.

Al Toon - TD!!!

Knocked the Giants out of the playoffs. Game was only for pride to us. Beautiful. My brother and I still recite "Jets Eagles Rams" which were the three teams who needed to win for the Giants to be bounced - and it happened. Fans were chanting it. Remember, the Eagles weren't very good back then. BAD day for the Giants that day was.

Hey guys, my first post here. My first (and only) Jets game was the 2006 week 17 game against the Raiders where we won and clinched a wild card spot. Great moment and a great season for a gutsy Jets team who nobody gave a chance in hell all year!

I'm flying over from Wales for the Ravens game on September 13. Can't wait to be a part of history.

First jets game was in the old Orange Bowl in Miami against the dolphins in 1986 -( i grew up in Stuart, FL), parents were from NY so grew up pulling for the jets even though the Dolphins were the "hometown team". That was the game O'Brien and Marion put up 884 net passing yards which Walker caught the td pass w/ no time left seding the game into ovetime. I'm pretty sure that was the highest scoring game between both teams to date.

My first game was Oct.21,1979 vs. the Raiders at Shea. My father got tickets in the mezzanine and the first thing I noticed is how different and beautiful the stadium looked with 55,000 people and the freshly painted football field. I say different because the Mets were lucky to get 5,000 people in those days and all you'd see was the empty sections of ugly wooden seats. Anyway, to the game, Richard Todd and Ken Stabler threw interceptions in the opening drives of the game with the Jets' Shafer Suggs returning his for a TD that was called back cause he barely stepped out of bounds on the Oakland 20 or something. I never heard Shea as loud as I did when they scored the TD moments later. The Jets intercepted Stabler 5 times enroute to a 28-19 victory and I was hooked. It took me 16 years to go to a game in Giants Stadium after they left Shea, it just wasn't the same

My first ever game was November 29th 1992. KC Chiefs at Jets in one of the most saddest moments I will probably witness. 1 minute into the 3rd quarter Dennis Byrd suffered a catastrophic injury and this terrible silence cast over the stadium.. Words can't explain how horrible it was.. At 12 I really didn't understand the magnitude of what had happened but never the less was a rough rough day for the Jets

We had 30 yd line seats at shea for several years. At GS they moved us to the bottom level in the end zone. I'm still mad.

Football at Shea had a lot of charachter. I guess it was helped by having Namath around then. It also helped that we were never able to get seats at GS as good as the ones at Shea. After we moved, it was never the same. For years, it seemed to me that the Jets played the entire schedule on the road. Now it seems like we built a house on big brother's acreage to share.

Haven't bought a tank of Hess gasoline since 1983

BTW: First game was Jets-KC on 11/27/66. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Walking through the portal in the loge to see the field in total for the first time. The team was warming up. Curley Johnson was booming punts, Namath and Taliaferro were throwing to Sammy Weir and Bill Rademacher and I was in heaven ... and I was hooked.

Gee I miss that old place.

First one was in 79 or 80 at Shea against the Colts. Don't remember it well, but do remember attending against the Pack to qualify for the playoffs. They had a great passing attack. Lynn Dickey, James Lofton & John Jefferson. Jets won that game to qualify for playoffs for first time since 1969... Awesome day.... It was so cold, and remember going w/ dad and taking our cardboard in to lay under our fee to stay warm from concrete. Upper deck at Shea.

Flying from SD to Pitt this weekend to complete a 31 year journey for me. It will be so special if we win.. I know I'll cry..

My first game was the Denver game at the old Meadowlands in 2008. It was wet, cold and the outcome of the game was just as miserable.

I had prior to that exclusively watched games at home or at a bar since I starting following the Jets when I was in college, which was 15 years ago. I like watching the game at a bar. The beer is cheaper. It's warmer. The food is better, plus I can passively watch other games.

Now that I live away from New York, I'm changing my tune a little bit. Wanted to go to the Browns game this year but couldn't due to a prior commitment. Went to the Steelers game at Heinz in December and am going to the AFC Championship game.
Have made tentative plans with a friend who's a Bills fan to go to the game at Ralph Wilson next year before the Bills get shipped off to who knows where.

I like going to road games. New stadium to see, usually cheaper concession prices than New York. Plus, maybe it's just me, but there's just something special about your team winning a game in spite of so many people cheering against you.

My friend, I remember that game as if it were yesterday. It was '81 if I remember correctly, and we sacked Dickey soooo many times, we are looked forward to when they had the ball just to watch him go down AGAIN. To me, it was the best game of the Sack Exchange era because the game mattered so much. My younger brother began a "Packers Suck Lynn's Dickey" chant which was quite immature of him ; ) He was only 15, so we forgave him. After the game we went downstairs from our Loge Section 2 seats and ran on the field. My brother was absolutely thrilled when he was hit in the head by the dismantled goal post. Good times indeed.

When we need something for our tears Sunday in Pitt, there'll be discarded Terrible Towels for us to cry tears of Joy in..... I hope. Damn I hope. Lucky for me I scored a media pass and will be taking photos on the field. I'll have to hide my rooting interest - until the final gun that is.

I'm a 21 year old college kid who lives in Georgia.

When I was 17, the Jets came to play the Falcons but my parents wouldn't get me tickets because I was screwing around in school.

This year, before Christmas, my step-dad makes some off-hand remark about how he almost got me tickets for Christmas, but wasn't sure that's what I would want. I was incredulous, asking if he was freakin' kidding. That would have been the gift to end all gifts. The game he was looking into was the week 15 Steelers game. Yeah, that amazing game, in the snow, won by a defensive stand in the end zone to win the game. So he didn't get them for me, and I'm still awaiting my first game.

Suffice it to say, I'm contemplating a ridiculous, ill-advised trip to Dallas if things go well this week.

Dude - You happened to pick one of the all-time worst games to attend! Take it from me, I've sat through (what does my sig say, 250 or so?) Jets games. The last win in Pittsburgh made up for some of that Denver game, and Sunday hopefully, god willing please please please will be more than enough to make up for your Denver game in the frigid monsoon. You know, the game that Favre didn't give a toss about, but Cutler did? It doomed that season.

3 significant things happen at that game:

Pennington's last start as a New York Jet :(

Dec 16th 1973 vs Bills, OJ broke the single season rushing record (2000 yds) Cold snowing and Jets lost, I don't think they had a good season that year. I remember watching Namath on the sidelines and Weeb Ewbank huddled together and Jerome Barkum with the big green poncho. I loved Shea back then the walls around the field were painted dark green, the field was muddy and covered with snow, this was the Jets home. I never saw a game in the old Meadowlands simply because I refused to accept this was a home for the Jets, as a Flushing Queens kid, Shea was the the holy grail of learning to love teams that were underdogs and for the most part sucked. Boy that is when football was football, today's players with no pads, no jocks, dreads, long goldilocks streaming from their helmets, skin art, ceremonial names, stage names...LOL it's actually a bit of a circus. Buuuttttt I still love the Jets and Hate the Pats it all really hasn't changed that much.

My favorite Shea story: December 12, 1982, Tampa Bay vs. NYJ. I was thirteen and I get to go to my first Jets game. It was snowing and there was lots of snow in the stands. The Buccaneer players were miserable because of the cold and blustery wind, but even worse for them, every time the Jets drive down to the goal line at the open end of the stadium, Jet fans eager to help the offense pelted the Buc defensive backs with snowballs.

The activities in the stands were even more amusing. We were on the upper deck, and drunks rained snowballs down on the people below. I may have tossed a couple myself. Fans set fires - big fires that engulfed individual seats - with the cardboard trays that you got at the concession stands plus any other trash they could find to keep warm.

The best part was when I went to the bathroom. The whole restroom smelled like piss. The lightbulbs had been knocked out so it was very dark and drunks were pissing in the sinks rather than waiting for a urinal. I couldn't believe it, and I have to confess that I loved all of the mayhem.

And the Jets won!

Who wants to tell the story of what happened to the bleachers during the final game at Shea? (Jets-Steelers, IIRC).

I was at that Pittsburgh game . The crowd was nuts !! They were ripping apart the bleachers , piece by piece . Some knuckleheads were throwing pieces of the stands into the bottom of the scoreboard, which was very close . Pieces of bleachers were sticking out of the scoreboard. There were fights everywhere . Me and my buddys were hanging out with one of the security guards ,watching one of the fights . The security guard said that he has never seen a more rowdy crowd . And he was NOT going to break-up any fights . What for ? The Jets were leaving . It was a very sad day . I loved tailgating at Shea . It sure beats the lousy trip to Jersey every home game .

Jets vs Patriots 1973 at Shea Stadium don't really remember it though.

Most memorable Jets game was a Halloween game vs the Giants circa 1997 or so. Me and my buddy having lunch at a diner in Hoboken overhear some people trying to unload their extra tickets. Next thing we've borrowed another friend's car and on our way to the Meadowlands.

Jets won in overtime, it was tremendous.
