View Full Version : Signatures are getting out of control

Ok, so it took me some time to turn the signature limits back on, but meanwhile certain people have turned their signatures into mini image galleries.

The rules of this board (link on top) clearly state that only one image is allowed per signature. The dimensions of this image should be no larger than 400x100 pixels. The filesize should be no bigger than 35K (35,840 bytes). No animated GIFs are allowed.

Please, make sure that your signature is within these limits or I'll be forced to edit illegal signatures myself.

Thank you.

So I guess you don't like something like this.

Sorry about that Petro, I'll delete it now.

Hey Petrozza, I need advice on whether an avi violates the decency rule. It can be viewed at To view links in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily.

I don't want to use it if it is going to result in my banning. Thanks.

that's a JPEG, not an AVI. AVI files are video.

I was just abbreviating avatar, sorry. Is the image okay as an avatar though? Or would it fall under the offensive category? I don't want to disrespect your site. I love it here, and I don't want to be sent out on my arse.

Ah, I'll just ditch the sigs. It was fun while it lasted.

You're always so dramatic. The Bruins one was within boundaries, no?

(PS - Yes i know mine has to go, I'll replace it within 24hrs)

No, unfortunately it was like 80 or so.

Not being dramatic, just realistic. I'm not crying or anything, and it was fun while it lasted. I also understand Petro's decision.

It's just that graphics make a board for me as well, and this is football first, graphics 14th. I can accept that. It's not like I won't continue to post here.

No worries man. :)

No, the flag would put you over the restrictive size. You're at about 30+kb as of now. Be thankful. It looks great and is within the size limit. Rock on!

What difference does it make whether or not it is a gif or jpg? As long as it is under 35kb there is no difference.

Because animated gifs aren't allowed. But I don't see why not either assuming the limit is kept under.

Petro.
I agree w/ DW.
There is no difference between a .gif thats 35k and an animated .gif that's 35k
The Load time is the same, it doesn't consume any more space. If anything it adds more character to .tgg especially the fact that we can do animated .gif's that small.

Not challenging you're authority but I think I speak for some if you would reconsider your stance on this.
35k -400x100 is completely Logical and I agree. But no animated .gif's if they fall under this criteria is a head-scratcher.
