I've become a big curling fan the last few days. I watched it a little in the past but the more I watch it and get a decent grasp of the rules the more I get drawn in. Or maybe that just means baseball needs to get here soon..
That Cassie Johnson is pretty hot. And it helps that she's constantly screaming "hurry harder."

I have been catching a bit of it here and there. I was able to watch mens hockey yesterday.
Strange but I have actually enjoyed Curling and Biathalon.

I watched some skiing yesterday. Some 18yo kid from Canada did a 720 backflip off the first jump, and a 1080 off the second. And he got terrible scores because he couldn't stick the landing on the second! It was awesome to see though.

No one in America gives a damn about the winter olympics and the proof is in the ratings.
Last night primetime accoriding to the Nielsen's
American Idol-27 million viewers
Olympic games- 16 million
No one cares when you already knows what the outcome is going to be.

Anyway to follow the hockey scores while at work, they only give the scores after the game is completed!

Liar, she told me that you suck HER into watching figure skating, and that you actually know the name to all of the moves, and that during intermission you yourself re-enact the previous routine, as you yell out catchy phrases like "tripple lutz" and "spinning camel."
By the way, spandex unitards aren't your thing...You should wear something with no sheen that calls less attention to your hips.

3-2 Russia. Russia has been ahead the entire game, but the US won't go away. Both are guaranteed spots in the medal round starting tomorrow, but are still playing at a high level. US needs to show something if they planning on doing anything in the medal round.

Very happy for Shani Davis. Especially because that shoves it right in Bryant Gumbel's face. What a racist moron.
• Just Shut Up! Award- Bryant Gumbel receives 74 percent of the vote to easily beat Ozzie Guillen and Barry Bonds for the dishonor.
That was on Mike & Mike in the morning, although I missed it due to class. :(

The same Bryant Gumbel that isn't watching these Olympics is the same person who was cashing checks from CBS while trying to sell the Nagano Olympics to the public. There are about a dozen hypocritical things about his comments which are irritating. Forget the fact that he may not like the Winter Olympics...many people don't....that doesn't bother me.
Explain to me what race has anything to do with Winter Olympics?
I'm white, but I didn't get offended when the Knicks didn't have a white player on their roster last year? Is that what makes Bryant happy?

Yeah, I don't get offended by racist GMs like Isiah...much.
I certainly don't go on the air with it.
If there was any justice in the world, Gumbel should've been fired. But he wasn't. Why? Because he's black, and he's allowed to make as many racist comments as he wants, apparently.

Well, if a white person said it, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would've been all over it. When Limbaugh had his ESPN bit, all of the national news programs had it on their news. I still haven't seen a national outcry over this.
"Try not to laugh when someone says these are the world’s greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention."
And...
"Try to blot out all logic when announcers and sportswriters pretend to care about the luge, the skeleton, the biathlon, and all those other events they don't understand and totally ignore but for three weeks every four years."

For some reason, I don't think Bryant has watched any track, high jump, pole jump, Archery, badminton, canoeing, gymnastics, judo, taekowdo, vollyball, handball, or fencing since the Games in Athens 2 years ago. What a hypocrite.

AP NewsBreak: Ellis breaks back in non-Olympic sledding accident
By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Sports Writer
SESTRIERE, Italy (AP) -- American skeleton racer Kevin Ellis broke a vertebra in his back Thursday while competing against members of the U.S. luge team in a non-Olympic sledding event being filmed for television.
Ellis was being transported to a hospital in Turin for further evaluation and treatment, said U.S. Olympic Committee spokesman Darryl Seibel. There was no immediate word on Ellis' condition, but the first-time Olympian did have movement in his extremities, Seibel said.
"There is no paralysis," Seibel said.
Attempts to reach other members of the U.S. skeleton team by phone and e-mail were not immediately successful.
Ellis, a 32-year-old accountant from Dallas, was 17th in the men's skeleton competition at the Turin Games. He was ranked a career-best fourth in this season's World Cup standings.
Skeleton season ended with the Olympic races, and Ellis has indicated that he's strongly considering staying on the U.S. national team for at least the next World Cup season and possibly make a bid for a spot on the 2010 Olympic roster. It remains to be seen how Ellis' injury will affect his plans.
He was one of five athletes in a friendly sliding competition at the Snow Show, an organized sledding hill in Sestriere on Thursday, joined by skeleton Olympians Eric Bernotas and Katie Uhlaender and luge Olympians Christian Niccum and Erin Hamlin. The hill is part of the Cultural Olympiad, near the athletes' village.
The competition was filmed and scheduled to be aired later in the Olympics by an NBC affiliate.
Ellis was a two-time All-American hurdler at Stephen F. Austin, and competed in the 110-meter Olympic hurdle trials prior to the 1996 Atlanta Games. He was hired as the skeleton team's manager in 1999, and became a full-time member of the World Cup circuit in the 2002-03 season.
