Dwayne Wright would be a good pick up. He's first round talent that'll probably still be there in the 3rd or 4th round. Only question is his prior knee surguries.

will Charles Johnson be able to play OLB?
He doesn't really stand out to me as a good OLB option. I know he's a good passrusher, but I don't think his athleticism is the kind that would allow him to play in space. I'd prefer Timmons of the two if we were looking for 34 OLBs. I think Johnson's future is as a 43 end. Maybe though, he could bulk up a little and play 34 end.

Oh God greg olsen...... Theres a guy you hear about his talent all the time. I just hope he's not another head case of a TE, they seem to grow on trees down there.

GH, where do you think Greg Olsen will be drafted?
It's tough to say. He's a phenomenal talent as a receiving TE, but has a lot to learn blocking and also needs to be constantly motivated. I attribute much of his inability to really reach that next level to the horrible QB play he's suffered through, he's still got that tremendous potential. I figure he'll go somewhere in the 2nd round, like 35-45, but could go higher with great workouts or if Zach Miller doesn't declare.

Greg Olsen is just a sick talent, but sure has had his fair share of ups and downs here in Miami.
I mean, you won't find more potential out of a pass catching TE in this draft, so surely he'll be a 2nd rounder or so. We have Chris Baker and I can't see Mangini getting such a question mark so early on at a position we just aren't in a huge need for.

Someday, but not now. Our passing game has been sufficiently effective this season.

No i think we need an upgrade at te still and a big wr and maybe even another speed/burner type wr, there is always room to get better cause realistictly talent wise we are not that good.

Doesn't seem like Mangini'd do it.

You never know, if Jarrett falls to us in the first round, it would be hard to believe that he wouldn't be by far the best available player. Similarly if Olsen or Miller or a decent TE falls in the second round you have to get them no matter if it is a prime need or not.
I concede your point that it isn't a pressing need but since none of us really know how the draft will shape up at this point, we need to keep an open mind to who may or may not be the best players available.

Naw he probably wont but if players like Lynch,Okeye and Woodley are chosen i would like us to go that route.

There definitely is not a need at 1st or 2nd WR. Brad Smith will be ready to be the 3 guy. Maybe a WR late in the draft to replace J-Mac if he's cut. But I think J-Mac is good enough to be a 4.
As for a TE, I like Baker a lot but, given Mangini's background, I think he would like to use more 2 TE sets. So another TE would be a good idea if the Jets can get a good one. Or maybe a pass catching FB.

The pats have selected 2 TE's in the 1st rnd the last 5 years
Do Not rule anything out especially the draft before FA and cuts take place
right now for offense!!!(I think the draft we should go defense)
but the needs right now are
1. RT clement is a FA and A Jones is probably a goner(a good takle will cost alot in FA (6 yrs 36 mil 16 mil SB for a good one) a stopgap 2 mil this could be a draft position?
2. TE I dont like the draft and the FA's stink this wont get addresed( PS Baker stinks)
3. WR remember we did try to go after branch, will it be a FA route or draft?
4. RB I want to go the cheap FA route or someone who got cut....I am always wrong so watch them draft a RB with the 1st pick
5 Guard late late late rnd I hope you can find guards anywhere
6 Fb fa min salary or draft 7th rnd or rookie fa or street fa who cares about this position

I think Clement will be resigned but Jones will be gone as you say.

Baker stinks?? I know that there will be posters that will agree with you but the majoity like him. I can't remember him doing too much wrong. My one critism is that he doesn't get the ball enough , but thats hardly his fault.
3. WR remember we did try to go after branch, will it be a FA route or draft?
Did we? It was rumoured. One of the last areas that need to be addressed. If Mike Hass is available on FA I would take him in a flash
4. RB I want to go the cheap FA route or someone who got cut....I am always wrong so watch them draft a RB with the 1st pick
Cheap does not make sense. Good RBs are not cheap and I would not another Barlow on the team. Cheap may not upgrade us , so I would push the boat out and all out to go after a quality proven back , right now theres talk of Portis , which would be a move in the right direction.
5 Guard late late late rnd I hope you can find guards anywhere
FA will address this

Is it that early? Wow I didn't realize it. Thanks for pointing it out.
That said, my point was that this is not a final list. As far as I can tell this is a comprehensive list as of now, meaning I've bounced around a couple sights and this is the aggregate list taken from all of them but it will certainly continue to grow and people not on the list like Dwayne Jarrett should not be seen as if they are staying in school because there is still time.
Good looking out onionsack.

Your sure not, I thought I was the only one wanting a TE at the second pick. DL for the first pick definately, but if Zach Miller is still available at 37 or whatever (He's projected early second) then the Jets cannot pass on him, he's too good for that. I watched this guy for the past few years and he is Wayne "Chrebetish" a clutch third down player who can block, block, block. I'm telling you the Jets need Zach "The Truth" Miller.
See sig for more info.

The 15th is the deadline, but you're right...at the rate the underclassmen are coming out, we still might be looking only at the tip of the iceberg. There are now rumblings that Maryland OT Jared Gaither might throw his hat in the ring. This draft has gone from weak to very VERY strong in the last few weeks.

Updated.
30% of the declared underclassmen are running backs.
No offensive linemen have declared themselves eligible. Thinking broadly (QB, RB, OL, WR, DL, LB, DB), they are the only major position grade not to declare yet. No safeties either but Reggie Nelson should make himself available soon.

Maurice Price
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Nation’s leading receiver, Maurice Price, announced Monday that he has decided to forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft. Price and fellow Buccaneer Collin Drafts are in California working out, having signed with agent Bert Briones.
Price led all of Division I football in receiving last year with 103 receptions, becoming just the seventh player in Division I-AA history to record more than 100 receptions in a single season. Over the past two seasons, Price ranks third in receiving, trailing only Davonne Bess (Hawaii) and David Ball (New Hampshire). His 175 receptions over that time rank him ahead of receivers such as Dwayne Jarrett (USC) and Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech).
During his three years at Charleston Southern, Price became the all-time leader, at CSU and in the Big South, in receptions and receiving yards. Price also set the League mark for games with at least 10 receptions, doing so in five contests.
Following his outstanding junior campaign, Price was named to the Associate Press All-American team, The Sports Network All-American second-team, and was named to the College Sporting News Fabulous 50 FC All-Star team.
Price has worked out just one weekend, but the 6-1.5, 196 pounder has already run a 4.4 40-yard dash, and had an impressive 11 foot broad jump.
CSUSPORTS.COM will feature a weekly update of both Buccaneer’s progress as they approach the April 28 NFL Draft.
