Was thinking about this topic myself the past few days. The Best Game I ever attended was in 2002 against the Packers when the Jets clinched the Division.

Others are the Monday Night Miracle, and the Playoff game in 02, and 98.

The Playoff game in 2002 was quite good. I still remember in 1986, when I was 12, going on 13, my dad taking me to the JEts and then Giants playoff games in back to back days too.

The playoff in 2002 when I was with my best frined, who happens to be a life long colts fan, was classic. He had his Manning Jersey on and people were hammering him . If he wasn't 6'8", I can only imagine what would have happpened.

I've only been to two Jets games and they were the Browns game in 04 and the Browns game this year. I guess I am trying to say I've never been to a good Jets game but the '04 game wins by default.

Yeah that was a good game.

After the close loss in Philadelphia.

If you think about it, the 03 team wasn't that bad.

Best game I ever went to where the Jets won was the MN miracle

It's weird.

Having attended both, I actually enjoyed the Packers game in 2002 more than the 41-0 Colts wildcard thrashing.

The massive elation when the 20000 people in the building with radios found out than Vinatieri nailed the kick to keep our playoff hopes alive. Beating the Packers (an 11-12 win team I believe) was a GIVEN now. We had our chance.

And Gator, that Pittsburgh snow game was a BITCH. Holy S it was cold.

I'm suprised people are saying that 03 Pit game was fun to be at. The weather sucked and so did the game. Only thing I remember about that game is Moss slipping and falling when he was open by about 40 yards and the Jets almost blowing it late.

The playoff wins in 98 and 02 were awesome but for atmosphere and just plain fun I think it's going to be really tough to top the GB 02 game. A win in the AFC championship game at home would probably do it.

If I remember correctly the Steelers complained about us not doing a good enough job keeping the snow off the field. I could understand if it was the Colts or something but the Steelers?

That game really was fun as hell. Didn't we win like 6-3?

I was just thinking about this the other day and ranked my top 5 (Now, 6)
1) Packers 02- it was like being at 2 huge games at once, watching the Pats game on small screens or radios throughout the place
2) Colts 02- killing Peyton
3) Monday Night Miracle
4) Clinching the division in 98 on Dedric Ward 70 yard TD in Buffalo
5) Jags Playoff Game in 98- Keyshawn 2 TD, INT, Fumble Rec
6) Jets-Pats this past weekend, where I completed my lifelong AFC east stadium tour

And Gator, that Pittsburgh snow game was a BITCH. Holy S it was cold.

It wasn't the temperature that was bad(it was worse a couple of weeks earlier on Mon Night vs. tennessee) it was the wet snow falling. My clothes were soaked so it was cold plus I was wet so it really felt cold but it was my first snow game and it was alot of fun.

Jets at Dolphins Sunday night in 1998. Jets beat Miami and clinch a playoff spot. Jets sealed the victory when Ernie Logan sacks Marino. Marino fumbles and Chad Cascadden returns it for a TD.

I was there too and also at the AFC East clincher the next week in Buffalo. those 2 games are probably 2 and 3 on my list.

For me I have been to every home game since 1990 plus a few in the 80s and I never saw a snow game so it was fun watching that. We were already out of he playoff picture as was Pitt so it livened up a game btw 2 struggling teams.

From a game standpoint it was terrible with the Jets blowing a few chances then Pit almost coming back at the end. The weather really doesn't do much for me either. Snow is preferrable to rain though I guess.

One of the most miserable games I've ever been at was the Ravens/Jets in 97. Pouring rain all day and then Vinny throws at TD to tie up the game as time expires. Luckily they won in OT or it would've been really horrible.

hopefully itll be this weekend :)

I've only been attending games for the last 5 or 6 years.

my first I believe was when we played the Bengals and we needed a win for playoff contention. Corey Dillon still played for them. We were down at the half.

At halftime some bengals fan got it bad lol. He was screaming loud and pretty much rubbing in the score at the half. I'll never forget. Someone screamed, "GO EAT SOM FUCKIN FROSTED FLAKES!" and then people threw beer cups and popcorn at him.

I moved to tampa from jersey, so alot of Bucs fans try to give me shit cause theyre pretty fair weather fans who couldnt tell you anything going on in the league outside of their division. and i have some good friends who are bucs fans talking shit to me up until the game.

slammed some brews, and watched Vinny roll off his couch to pick the bucs apart. not only was it unexpected, but it was just a good win.

not to mention the reaction i got from my friends when I returned. :)

1.GB in 02- It will be hard to top that day, one of those days you will remember forever.

2. Jags PO game in 98- Really thought we were going to the SB
3. Bills 98- Clinched the division title, what a special year that was.
4- Midnight Miracle - If the season turned out better it would be higher on my list. Loudest I have ever heard that stadium in the 4th qtr & half empty.

Looking back now the Steelers snow game was fun but I remember being miserable during the game. Only game I have ever went to that I left early. We left at halftime & watched the rest of the game at friends house who lived 5 minutes from the stadium..

That was an exciting game though and the sun actually came out in OT. I can give plenty of bad weather examples where we stunk or the game stunk so at least that Bal game we won and it was entertaining.

I have only been to several games myself but I lucked out with the Packers vs Jets in 2002. I purchased two tickets a few months before the game for a total of 400 bucks right on the 50 yard line. My Packer friend used the other one. We haven't won the AFC East too many times and being there and watching everything come together was great. We learned in the first quarter the Fins beat the Pats and the Jets had an actual shot. The first half was actual close but the Jets blew the crap out of the Pack in the second half. If I remember correctly they shut em' out.

The GB game in '02 is #1.

A quick story....When we left thre tailgate party we were all depressed. Miami was up by at least 2 scores (don't remeber the exact score) and there was little time left. None of us even said anything about a comeback. We justed wanted the Jets to paly a good game to close out the year. By the time we got into the stadium and up the escalator there was w/out exaggeration 1000 fans around the concessions stand watching the Pats/'Phins on the TV and the Pats were driving. This quickly became a fire hazzard becuase you could not pass....Mind you this was all before the Jets game started.... so security came and shut down off the TV's. The fans went nuts, while security just walked away...

Then for those who were there they remember how the stadium just erupted when the Pats scored.

#2 game of all time was the Monday Night Miracle
#3 was the Jets/Miami game at Shea....froom which I take my screen name.

So far every game I've went to has been a good game In my mind, I've went to: Seahawks vs Jets-2004, Jaguars vs Jets-2005, Colts/Lions vs Jets-2006. No real blowouts or anything, the Seahawks was fun for my first time because of the goalline stand that rallied the Jets.

It was the end of the game not the end of the half, at the end of the half we gave up a long TD to Jimmy Smith that got jax in the game. Keys performance that day was one of the all-time great postseason performances.

I remember the Jets-Packers game in 2002 very clearly. I remember seeing that Miami was beating the Patriots by 10 with about 5 minutes left, so as we went into the stadium, we felt that it was going to be a meaningless game. Then I remember hearing that it was going into OT. Then I heard Vinitieri's FG go through the uprights over a radio and the whole stadium completely errupted. I think all of the players knew what that meant too. The rest was history. The AFC East berth, the fireworks... Best Jet game ever!

Monday Night Miracle. Easily. I wasn't at that '02 Packers game, but it couldn't have been as exciting as Monday Night Miracle. Me and my buddy drank way too much at our tailgate. We were out there at 8 in the morning. At the end of the first half when people were filing out, we were too drunk to drive home, so we stayed. Just as the Jets started coming back the alcohol wore off and it was amazing. We were out there for 17 hours, and it was well worth it.

really easy one for me, since ive only been to two, both Jets Bills in Buffalo. So gotta be the season Opener when Morton returned both Kickoffs for TD's including the one in Overtime, he was running right at me, i was above the endzone, It was the most amazing event i had ever been to. So thankful i get to go to this years Jets Bills in Buffalo.

only downside to going to Ralph Wilson is that it is suicide to wear Jets green unless you are jacked and can take on 3-4 drunk bills fans by yourself and win. Seeing as how i am not that guy, i cant wear my jets green, but its a small price to pay to see a game live.

2002 Wild Card Game vs. Colts. 41-0. Surreal. No one sat down for 4 quarters.

I was there, too. Hands down, the best game I've seen in person...

We managed to get good seats since most of the STH's didn't pick up their playoff option after the Bears loss. We were on the 30 yard line about 30 rows up. When Anderson broke 50+ yards on the screen pass, some enormous dude behind me jumped on me and my friend, which triggered about 6 dudes in front of me to jump on the enormous guy who was already laying on me and my buddy. I believe my face was pressed to floor of the Meadowlands for about 3 minutes and I couldn't bend my knee for a week. Worth every second of it, though...

Beating the Steelers last year in what was otherwise a lost season. I had a blast. I don't have season tickets so don't get to go to many games. That one for me easily tops my list.

Cold December day 1987 at the old Sullivan Stadium (very cold seats). Sitting behind Jets bench and yelling at Gastineau. him yelling and swearing back at us..
We won 42 to something, but the best part was the taunting back and forth..
I had too much respect for Klecko and the other guy Marty, so we left them alone..

Jets at Dolphins Sunday night in 1998. Jets beat Miami and clinch a playoff spot. Jets sealed the victory when Ernie Logan sacks Marino. Marino fumbles and Chad Cascadden returns it for a TD.

I made the trip down to Miami for that one too - it was probably my high water mark as a Jets fan. By any chance, where you one of the crowd at Shula's Steakhouse Bar at the Ft. Lauderdale Sheraton after the game? It was filled with elated rowdy Jets fans who were staying there. I recall actually feeling sorry for the bars staff who had to put up with our antics. It was wonderful. We haven't had pride like that in our team since, and we were in a place filled with Dolphin crap. Beautiful memory.

Side story - during the game I realize the guy sitting in front of me is none other than Bruce Harper. (No, not Ed) During a TO I see him swing his binoculars over to the Dolphin cheerleaders. I lean in and ask "Bruce, how's it looking over there?" He knew he was snagged. It was great.

I'll throw out a couple of others since none of the Shea games were mentioned that I saw.

There was a game against the Dolphins n '81 that put us in first place for the first time in ages. Todd hit Jerome Barkum right in front of us in Loge Section 2, crossing the end zone with about 6 seconds left for a thrilling 16-15 victory. Shea bounced in delight. We hugged people we never even said hello to before in our row. We also had a tie against Miami that year, so both meetings were decided by a total of a single point.

(By the way, great Jets Dolphins rivalry entry on Wikipedia. I couldn't post the link since I am new here, but search Wikipedia under "Dolphins Jets Rivalry)

The game against the Packers later that year that clinched a playoff spot. Sack Exchange was in full-force, and practically every GB 3rd down was a time to stand up and expect the sack. The only question was whether Klecko or Gastineau would get it. Abdul Salaam may even have surprised us with one that day. We ran on the field after the game, and my brother got smacked in the head with a goalpost - and was thrilled by it!

Interesting that the '81 last second Dolphin win mirrored the '86 Wesley Walker last play TD that tied the game in the 51-45 game, and the Packer home playoff clincher occurred again in 2002.

'81 is the first year I can remember games and it was a great year. I have copies of both that Miami and GB game from '81.

I was very young and it was my first Jet game.

October 23, 1977....Jet's vs Raiders at Shea.

The Jet's nearly beat the World Champs, but lost 28-27 by a missed P.A.T. by Pat Leahy. That day, I became a huge Wesley Walker Fan (WW85). Wesley Walker is my favorite Jet, and there isn't even a close second. Walker caught a 80 yard bomb from Richard Tood that was a thing of beauty. I believe the Jet's went only 3-11 in 1977 , but were very competitive under the new coach Walt Michaels. As a Jet fan you could see the future was looking bright.

I've been to relatively few games, but I was at the famous game against the Seahawks on December 6, 1998 when Vinny didn't actually get into the end zone, right in front of where I was sitting. It was only later on the car ride home that we found out about the controversy.

1981 AFC Wild Card Game Buffalo Bills 31, New York Jets 27 (My first Jets game at SHEA Stadium)
1998 Jets at Miami Vinny and the boys win on Sunday night and clinch the number 2 seed.
2008 Jets vs. Chiefs (40th Anniversay of the Super Bowl III) One of the best days of my life and my son and I got to see my dad on the field during the half-time ceremony. It was awesome to actually walk on the the field.
2007 Jets at Miami Jets rolled the Phins in there Titians uniforms.

I have only made it to 2 (1 and ahalf) games in my lifetime. I live in the midwest and atteneded the preseason matchup in the late 90's against Chicago. That was a great experience, not really for the game , but for the ride up to it. Many pitstops fpor more beer, at 1 point we stopped at a bar in Joliet and happened across a lingerie show. We almost changed our minds and hit the tail end of a White Sox double-header. We finally made it to Soldier Field with enough time to grab 2 beers a piece (end of the 3rd quarter). The Jets were killing the Bears, I think Ray Lucas was lighting them up. I was with Bears fans so we actually wound up leaving early. My second showing was in Champaign Illinois when Chrebet fumbled away a chance at victory by trying to hurdle over a defender. Bear fans sure can be assholes. It was a long walk back to the busload full of Bear fans I would have to ride home in. My wife and sister-in-law were actually showered in thrown beer meant for me. Most would say these are not so great experiences, but for me, I wouldn't give them back for anything. I hope to make it to Indianapolis in '09. Go JETS!!!!
