This is with the rumored Abe trade to the Lions and an additional trade down. Not quite sure how the value chart works but if I'm off please correct me.
Jets trade John Abraham and their 3rd rounder #68 to Detroit in exchange for the #9 pick in round one.
Jets then trade #9 pick to Denver for #22 and #29
1st round
#4 Vernon Davis: TE Maryland I know not a real need but possibly the best athlete in the draft. Has great hands and incredible speed could be a serious weapon. Why no Cutler A) because I don't buy into the hype and B) I think he will already be drafted.
#22 Antonio Cromartie: CB Florida State, maybe a reach but after running a 4.37 at the combine with his size likely would be gone before our 2nd round pick. Some concerns with his knee but might be too good to pass up. Potential top 10 pick next year if he returned to school.
#29 Nick Mangold: C The Ohio State University, best center in the draft.
With Mawae gone this is a must.
2nd round
#35 Marcus McNeil: OT Auburn 6'9 340 , could be our starting RT this year and for years to come. Just a huge player with a good combination of size and ability.
3rd round
Comp for Lamont Jordan
Kevin Boothe: OG Cornell, not a dummy that is for sure. Actually has good size , speed and is mean. Wants to own the guy on the other side of the line. Has alot of upside with the only downside being he played in the Ivy-League
4th round
#100 Babtunde Oshinowo : DT Stanford, likely won't fall this far as he would be a great fit in the 3-4 defense. Has lots of size 6-2 , 320 and would take on 2 blockers at a time. Wishful thinking on my part
#116 (from KC) Dontrelle Moore: RB New Mexico, likely not a starter but would be a good 3rd fown back. Has decent size 5-10 and 210. Saw this guy play live on a few occasins and he will be a good situational back in the NFL.
5th round
#132 Ingle Martin: QB Furman, With Pennington likely coming back there is no need to take a QB high in the draft. Transfered to Furman from Florida. Also played punter, kicker and WR in college as well. Booted a 70 yard punt while at Florida.... quite an interesting prospect.
Comp pick for Kareem McKenzie
Frostee Rucker: DE USC, a tweener type player, could project to DE or OLB but lacks size you want only 255 but is a great open field tackler and has a great burst. saw lots of this guy at USC. A great athlete but maybe lacking a position. Has a great name too
6th round
#164 Brian Iwuh: OLB/S Colorado Too small to be a great LB and too slow to be a safety, is a playmaker though. Might make a real nice project player. Will get drafted based on potential
7th round
#201 from Detroit (Jon McGraw) Freddie Roach: ILB Alabama, lacks ideal size and speed but could be a good special teams player. Can hit though and brings it every game.
comp pick for Jason Ferguson
Jay McCareins: CB Princeton, likely a Nickel corner at best but is good at finding the endzone when making an int. Jay is also a good KR and PR. Will make a team just based on that. Brother of Justin...
