Has been and would be a terrible fit in the Jets offense. Coles also had 70 catches with Brooks Bollinger throwing to him... just wait until we find a real QB.

He also has a qb who can actually throw the ball, and even do so downfield.
The Redskins were just lucky that they had the missing piece in the Moss puzzle.
Don't worry, we not only gave you Moss but he came with a bad case of airborne Syphillis- not alot of happy folks in the locker room now...

I have no problem with getting rid of Moss it was good for him and for the Jets. Except for a brilliant 10 game strecth in 2003 he simply could not catch passes thrown to him here. He lost confidence in himself and the team and the coaches were not able to trust him. He needed a fresh start and I am glad it was helpfull for him.
Both teams were a winner in the Coles and Moss trade. All that being said it what we lost and what we need to replace is a vertical threat that poses a threat to defenses.

You really miss the guy who had one great year and then a bunch of poor years? The only place where I dearly miss him is on punt returns... which Justin Miller would be able to do even better if he could learn to catch them.

Funny thing is,
Back when he was being drafted there were 2 recievers the Redskins were interested in, Santana Moss and Rod Gardner. Dan Snyder told Marty Shottenhiemer that he wanted Santana Moss but Marty said he wanted Rod Gardner. So we drafted Rod Gardner and right now it looks like he will be out of the league this coming season.
No matter, we still got Santana and truthfully, if we drafted Santana Moss i doubt he would still be with the Redskins. Now all we need is his brother as our number 2 reciever !! EHehHHEHee

Are Redskin Legends coming so cheap these days? I give hm 3 more seasons before he ends up finding an injury that he can't fully recover from. He's way too fragile to continue to play at the level he played this year. You'll understand soon why a lot of us weren't so upset to see Moss go. Count on it.

This is a funny thread... the guy came here to troll and all he gets out of us is sullen agreement.
I for one was happy with the trade, I love Coles' chip-on-the-shoulder attitude, and I'm hoping it'll prove a win-win once we get a proper offense around Coles...
Santana was awesome this year, no doubt... it kind of surprised me. Guess he just needed a change of scenery.

I would take Coles over Moss at this point on the Jets. What people don't understand is that Coles is a better fit on the Jets, and don't give me that bullshit that he would have done the same on the Jets. I bet he wouldn't even be close to Coles stats this year if he was on the Jets.

I am a big fan of Coles and was a big fan of Moss when he was here, but I was glad when we got Coles back because he is a more complete receiver. I'm sure his performance will be much better once we actually have an offense. I'm glad to see Santana doing well though; he is fun to watch.

Yes Dawkins is a big hitter for a safety but he's small and if a WR doesn't pop up from a Dawkins hit it's pathetic... his type of big hit is only bell ringing. I'm going to ask an honest question and see what you respond with... who is the biggest linebacker that you clearly remember hitting Santana Moss this year? If he crosses paths with Ray Lewis, Lavar Arrington, Takeo Spikes, Jonathan Vilma, or Zach Thomas someday I hope for you that Moss is still alive in the end.

How many Linebackers has Coles been crushed on a hit by? Hell, he might survive that hit anyway, but god forbid the LB steps on his mangled, misaligned big toe, that could be his career.
And at this point, really what's the point of saying Coles fits our offense better. What offense is that exactly; whatever that crap that they put on the field last year was? Or is it Schottenheimer's offense, that we really have little idea on what it'll be like? Coles fit Hackett's offense and Chad's weak arm better than Santana did, not every single combination of coordinators and QBs from now on.

moss was a great player i always liked him... he could have been doing just as well here however mmhmmm... the jets did not know how to utilize his talent and they also gave him a qb with no arm as well but het good luck with moss his a great player i just wish we still had him
I like Moss and am happy for him,the skins are a much better fit for him.
The thing is,i wonder if Santana can repeat his success next year. This past season was basicly a repeat of the 2003 season,he was hot for 6 games but cooled off for the last 10,getting only 1 100 yard game in the last ten regular season games.Moss is a threat but once teams notice that threat,he can be dealt with.

No problem. I don't know, I just can't bring myself to regret this deal. Moss never would have been this successful here, with our QBs. Then they would have let him walk for nothing when his original contract expired. I'm glad he landed somewhere where his skills could be used properly, because he's obviously got talent, but he would have continued to be wasted here.

Well then I'm sure Moss had a ton of balls thrown his way that he did not catch... because I know from the Patsies that David Patten makes a good #2 possession guy.
Edit: I realized he was the one hurt for half of the season. Moss will follow up last year with a less than stellar season this year, unless he has incredibly turned a corner. As I illustrated, Moss lit up extremely subpar defenses. Only one of his performances came against a top 15 pass defense. Now that teams have seen him, they will make the necessary adjustments, and I predict he will do something similar to what he did with us prior to leaving, which is have a non-factor season.

First of all, how was watching the playoffs at home for yall? And sorry Santana has turned a corner, hes gone up the middle some times during the season. While he isnt the reciever that wants to go through the middle, he is certainly one of the biggest playmakers in this league.
You guys still act like he is in a Jets uniform. Fact is he dosnt run outta bounds anymore, maybe if a safeties coming straight at him which any reciever would. Sorry, hes a Redskin now stop acting like hes some bust who cant preform up to expectations like he did in New York.

0-16? Have you seen the Jets roster? It's built with a good blend of younger players such as Houston, Askew, Coles, Cotch, Dresson, Jones, Abe, Ellis, Robertson, Vilma, Hobson, Coleman, Rhodes, Miller, Strait, and Barret that will never let this team go winless. Also, there's 2 drafts inbetween now and then and we should be able to pull atleast 3 or 4 producers out of them.
Chad also is hurt... he could definitely handle the NY pressure but our GM that was just demoted neglected our OL woes and we had Fabini and Mawae go down and the entire OL with it. Chad's shoulder re-tore when the entire pocket collapsed against Jacksonville.
I will give you Randy Thomas on that list... I miss him dearly. Moss would've had 40 catches for 500 yards and 4 TD's if he was a Jet last season so it's good to hear you're enjoying him while we are getting production out of Coles. Unless we draft Young or Cutler (which I still do not want us to!) we wouldn't have a QB with enough arm strength to get Moss the ball anyway. Coles/Moss was a great trade for both sides and once we get one solid QB Coles will have a 90 catch season easily (he had 70+ with 4 QBs mostly Brooks Bollinger... not bad).
Edit: I do miss Hall on kickoffs but I do not miss his line drive kicks that were blocked a lot. I remember one season he had 3 FGs and 1 XP blocked in the same season. Nugent > Hall

The Panthers didn't get much more production from their WR,infact Chris Cooley caught more than twice as many catches than the panthers second leading pass catcher.

He dropped a total of 8 passes this season along with Torry Holt and Steve Smith dropped 7. Inconsistent? Thats cuase he didnt have any recievers to take pressure of him, like he didnt when he was with your suck-ass recievers in New York(no im talking about the jets not your soon to be beloved giants you bandwagoner).

HE GOES UP AGAINST SHIT DEFENSES YOU FUCKIN COCKSUCKER REDSKINS SUCK AND THEY ALWAYS WILL SUCK!!!!!!!!! They will never go anywhere in the playoffs and Santana Moss is overrated. Receivers should come with a package of going over the middle and going deep. Most good recievers have that. Santana doesnt. So go back to your Redskins board an have a buttfuck orgy about how Santana is actually good. JACKASS. ILL KILL YOU.

Take a few days off and get a grip on yourself. This is only a messageboard. If you get this upset over a post, you need to take a hard look at the big picture..

I think Moss is a much better fit in Washington with Gibbs. And I think we're all pretty happy for him. He will always be one of my favorites
Yep. He's one of mine. I was very upset when we traded him. I thought we should've waited Washington out.

I don't believe that at all. Snyder gets what he wants. That includes extreme skins.

Look at our wide recievers stats. Nothing...Not to mention our number two reciever missed half the season with injury.
If Steve Smith didnt have the season he did, the media would be talking about Santana that way. When you watched the panthers you atleast saw other recievers besides Steve Smith catching the ball.
Not really. Washington and Carolina were very similar. At least with Washington, Cooley produced. Carolina had Smith and nothing.
A lot of that is being Delhomme locks in on Smith. Delhomme has really regressed as a QB.

Oh and Santana Moss did catch about every ball thrown his way this season.
When did 63% become "every ball"?

KEVIN Dyson? The wide receiver?
I assume he meant Andre. Kevin Dyson hits like an old woman. Don't remember ever seeing him tackle anyone. Although he is good at getting injured and not catching many balls because of that...

Moss just one lucky guy who got a lots of extra yardages after his cornerback slipped or tripped downfield. Most of his pass actches were screens and short balls and then somebody slipped in the coverage and next thing you no Santana done gone for 90 yards-- anybodys can do that when the corner falls a part.
Next year Coles will get his toe operate on or replace it and watch out!! He'll be going over the middles for tough ones-- something moss won't never done!! PLUS Coles will be faster than Moss and he can go for 90 yardage passes hisself-- if he's in the right mood for it.
Next year it is Coles in the pro bowl and Moss gets carried office in a stretcher crying the blues!!
I spit on your attemptes at disrupsion Deadskin troll!! And laugh too!! HAR HAR HAR!!!
OWNT!!!

Well, we've had a zillion threads on this before our site crashed, but Santana Moss wouldn't have had 700 yards if he was with us last season.
agreed. no body would have had a good year with those QBs. Vinny did an alright job but otherwise it was brutal. A healthy Penny and J-Mac = big things for Coles next year.
