Crap. Only the Yankees could have the luck to have bases loaded, 1 out, and ARod coming to bat.

And only ARod could respond with not grounding into a DP, but creating an out with a Little League Infield Fly Rule...
I can't deal with him anymore.

He didn't hit into a DP, so that is a good sign.

You know they cheered him loudly yesterday. And he still failed. He totally sucks at this point. He is a mere shell of anything he may once have been.

He'll get hot again and people will quiet down for awhile. When and how long he gets hot for will determine how long they lay off him afterwards I guess. I think people make too much out of the booing/cheering stuff.
Yankees will win the division. You just have to hope no one gets hurt this month.

Look at their lineup. Is Neifi Perez really playing everyday for them now?
Their best pitcher just got smacked around the park today to the tune of 11 baserunners in 5 1/3 IP. I haven't been following them all year but I don't understand how they won so many games.

He got smacked around by probably the best team in baseball, it's not like the Royals beat him up and how is 4 runs getting "smacked around" when you say 3 runs in 7 IP is a good job? 3 runs are good but 4 is smacked around?

I didn't say the best team in that AAA caliber NL.
ARod finally seems to be breaking out, hopefully it's not a 1 game thing.

THe Mets are the best team in Baseball, by far. NL AL it doesn't matter.

Yep, w/ a top 2 rotation of injured, fading stars you are by far the best team in baseball. You have a great lineup but that lineup will not beat the AL representative in the WS IF you make it that far. MAYBE the Mets are the 3rd best team in baseball possibly 4th behind the yanks, ChiSox and maybe the Twins.

For those questioning why Joe did not use Mo last night, It was reported Mo had to have an MRI....

What does that mean? It showed him sitting in the bullpen several times last night.

The results of the MRI did not come back until TODAY.. He had swelling in his forearm.

Best lineup, best bullpen, best defense.
  The lineup is damn good but it's not the Yankee lineup, best bullpen?  You lost your best setup guy, you are relying on Roberto Hernandez? We all know Billy Wagner can implode at any moment too. We ahve the best closer in the history of baseball, our setup men aren't great but they are ok and overall we have a better pen. Defensively I'd give you an edge but w/ our new OF we are alot better defensively than a year ago.

they had been treating that forearm for a while now, I guess it wasn't getting better but I don't think they used him Weds Night b/c he pitched in game 1.

Our pen is by far the best, even after losing Sanchez.

How many saves has wagner blown this year? What's his postseason ERA?(7.71 if you don't want to look it up) yeah your pen is definitely the best:rofl:

I don't want to start another pointless Yankee/Met debate but I feel I have to correct some more junc misinformation. If the Mets are "relying on Roberto Hernandez"(10 1/3 IP 2.61 ERA in August) what would you call what the Yankees are doing with Proctor(22 IP 3.27 ERA) and Villone(22 1/3 IP 6.04 ERA)?

Outside of the other night when proctor was thrown into a role he's not made for he has been excellent the 2nd half of the season. Overall villone has been good this year, he's struggled some lately but there's plenty of time to get back to normal. of the 3 I would trust hernandez the least.

I don't particularly like Hernandez either, but the way Villone has been pitching lately I'd say he's probably more reliable then him. Now I'm not clear on the "roles" in the Yankees pen, but Hernandez is essentially the last guy in the Mets pen and you're comparing him to 2 guys that have logged 22+ IP the last month with the Yankees.

I'm hopeful w/ our division race over that joe rests some guys down the stretch and has their arms fresh for october.
